Our family just came back from our stay at Te Manava and we absolutely loved it. For some of our group this was our first trip to Raro and for others it was our 5th, so we have stayed at a few other places on the Island before. The service here was amazing and the staff truly went above and beyond to ensure that our stay here was enjoyable. We stayed in the 3 bedroom garden villa and it was spacious and very clean. The pool was great although we didn't use it much because we spent most of the time at the beach. The free use of kayaks and free snorkelling gear was really helpful. We also had a massage at the spa here, I have had a few massages at other places and this one truly topped them all! It was in a beautiful setting and the ladies had magical hands. The staff were always happy to transfer us to the Pacific resort down the road which has a beautiful menu and cocktails. A big Meitaki to Teina and Tutu for the fantastic service that we received during our stay!

We recently stayed at Te Manava as a couple in a beach front villa suite.
The villa was huge for 2 people, and we never felt cramped - even when we were stuck inside during a rain storm.
The bed was very comfortable, we loved the double shower, and having a kitchen to self-cater was great. We also liked having the option of using the washing machine when needed.
The private patio looking out over the ocean was a real highlight, with comfortable sun loungers, our own plunge pool, and direct beach access - not to mention falling asleep to the sound of the waves.

One of the best things about this accommodation was the sense of independence it gave us -
We could come and go as we pleased without having to deal with crowds or noise that you often find in the bigger resorts....
We could eat in, or choose not to......
We could make use of the amenities at the Pacific Resort....but didn't have to stay there to benefit from using them.
We had the use of kayaks and snorkelling equipment without having to bother booking ahead or the cost of renting them.
Central Muri was a short walk away via the beach or the road - we were close enough to the action to enjoy it, but far enough away to have peace and quiet.

The staff were lovely and made it clear that if there was anything they could do to make our stay more enjoyable, they would be there to help.
We were also pleasantly surprised to find a bottle of wine and a gorgeous flower arrangement in our room when we checked in.

We would definitely return to Te Manava if we are fortunate enough to visit the Cook Islands again.

Room Tip: The beach front villa suite was quiet, private, and very roomy!

We had a family entourage vacation to cook islands and my wife had booked this place.
First impressions were great. The apartment was big, spacious and clean and was not found wanting for any amenities whatsoever.Location was good. The lap pool was great for the kids too and the bbq patio area - just great for entertaining and burning meat on the BBQ whilst everyone was relaxing
The property is located down the road from the pacific resort and we were able to use all the resort facilities (at no charge) , but have the benefit of a self contained apartment so we could save some of the waistline and wallet. We utilised the free shuttle service offered by the vila on multiple occasions which was a real plus.
Another benefit - the kayaks, and bikes - all free to use and in good working order
The staff were fantastic - the service received was exemplary - thanks to the manager Teinau and Tutu. Nothing was a problem, the staff really care about the customer experience and Teinu demonstrated on two occasions on going above and beyond with a couple of things, which he need not have done (not related to the property at all) which occurred. I stay sometimes up 2 weeks a month away at SPG, Hyatts,LeAccor, IHG hotels and easily this was the best service I have experienced personally in a very long time.I write very few reviews. In this case I felt compelled to do so...

Room Tip: if you have the $$$ to burn consider an upgrade , get a front room overlooking the beach..

I’m just returning from a stay at Te Manava and can’t say enough about it. Gorgeous, immaculate villas, stunning views, excellent location, wonderful staff.

Be advised that there are no restaurants onsite, so if that’s your thing on vacation you might need to look elsewhere. That being said, it’s easy to go up the road and find plenty to eat (Deli-Licious was a favorite for breakfast!). We rented a car and that made everything really easy for zipping all over the island.

You have to pay for WiFi access on the Cooks (this is not included with your villa) and if you’re used to unlimited data you’ll be surprised to see how quickly it goes! Really, it’s kind of a perk — it forces you to unplug and enjoy where you are.

Te Manava is a gorgeous place to unwind on Rarotonga, and I wouldn’t hesitate to stay again (unless I wanted the ability to stay onsite for table service meals).

My husband and I would highly recommend Te Manava. The warm welcome by the hosts who make you feel so special is like no other. Always a warm smile waiting upon your return from adventures. Alongside the peaceful luxury stay, with only the sound of the waves is why we will be back again some day soon.
