The hotel is great, it is very clean throughout, the rooms are cleaned daily including all the towels being changed. The pools are amazingly clean and never get crowed or even busy. There are never any issues over sunbeds and you can easily get one when you want, the complex never seems very busy at all.

There is a large selection of food and a very good choice for most people, however it is never overly hot. The meals times are 07.30 until 10.00 for breakfast, with "snacks" available from the pool bar from 11.00 until 16.00. The snacks consist of warm pastries (sweet and savory) and icecream, however on a number of days in the two weeks they were not ou until 12.30. The lunch is served from 13:00 until 14:30, and dinner from 19:00 unitl 21:30.

The bar staff are very friendly, and although you pay extra for cocktails they make a great effort in making and presenting them. The only issue is they tend to serve their favourite customers first, leaving other people waiting. A few times there were people there before me and I had to point out they were first, however the Germans and French never seemed to repay the favour!

The entertainment is not great, the kids club is the same every night from 21:00 until 21:30. The evening entertainment in the main reception bar is geared strongly towards the Italians and the french.

The aircon in the rooms works great and there were no issues at all with it, the fridge in the room was great and the safe is included free of charge.

What you do need to be aware of when booking this hotel is the fact it is in the middle of no where. Kos town is a 27 Euro ride away, there is very little you can walk safely to. There is a restaurant called "Tam Tam" which isn't too bad about a 20 min walk up the beach, (its a 7 euro taxi ride). Other than that there is nothing there at all!.

It would be great if you don't mind lying round the pool all day, and sitting round the same bar night after night, but it can be a bit monotonous. We went for two weeks, which was a little too long, perhaps one week to 10 days would have been better.

Would I recommend it? Yes, as long as you don't mind spending all the time on site and are not looking for lots of evening entertainment.

Room Tip: As for rooms overlooking the main pool.

My husband and I stayed in this hotel second time for a week at the begging of August.
Fantastic hotel. Plenty of sun beds. Room was very clean and cleaned every day. Food very tasty-varied and plenty of chose.
All staff were fantastic. There was never too much trouble.
Dimitrius and Valentina-the pool bar staff were the best. they could integrate everyone and the time we had was amazing. We will nerve forget the " tequila time".
i would recommend this hotel as the best one in Kos.

Room Tip: Rooms upstairs had a better view.

This is a lovely hotel if you want a quiet get away.

The positives:

Excellent food - varied and plenty of it.
Plenty of sun beds and not too busy.
Clean - hotel is spotless and rooms cleaned daily.

Room for improvement:

Air con could be better - not cool enough.
All inclusive drinks are limited - beer, wine and soft drinks.

If you are looking for a quiet get away then this is ideal but it was just too quiet for us!

Magnificent complex with well trained and typically super friendly staff. Absolutely nothing is too much trouble for the staff at the Gaia Palace - from the cleaner to the bar staff, from the waiters to reception all were an absolute joy to deal with. Unlike most all inclusive resorts the staffing levels were absolutely at the right levels. The manageress should be delighted with every single one of her team. The gardens, pool areas, reception and even the petting zoo are kept beautifully clean. Even the 6.5 earthquake when we were there was not enough to reduce my rating for this hotel. The food was fantastic and offered a tremendous selection, only coming under pressure at peak times, but with the staff constantly checking, any empty station was refilled quickly.
One very slight downside is that there is nowhere to go for a stroll in the evenings. The resort of Mastikari is a 6 minute taxi ride away and has a fantastic beach but is too far to walk to along a tight winding road.
