Lovely looking hotel, beautiful rooms with amazing sea views. Plenty of sun beds. Food good. However, it is not a five star hotel. Entertainment is poor, relaxing by the pool is difficult due to the blaring music and the level of service is certainly not five star.

Room Tip: All rooms have sea view but there are not enough lifts so you may want to be on the lower floors so...

Its not often I would say that Trip Advisor get it wrong but when it comes
to the Venosa Beach Resort in Altinkum the reviews I read in advance of
booking there were incorrect.

We decided on a quick break and heard an advertisement on the radio for a
company in Ireland called Wings Abroad. My wife called spoke to a lovely
agent sought advice and they agreed for what we wanted the Venosa Beach
Resort was the most suitable. We read the reviews and again my wife
expressed concern , the agent assured my wife that this was the best
resort in turkey. We booked and thought no more about it until a few days
before our trip.

From the minute we checked in at Dublin our magical experience began, we
were met by a charming agent in Bodrum who whisked us off to Altinkum. We
arrived just as the sun was rising and it was breathtaking.

We have no connection with the resort and we booked because of the advice
we got from Wings Abroad. The Venosa Beach Resort is the finest facility
we have ever stayed in. We stayed all inclusive , the food was amazing
and varied. There is food available from 7am to 9pm in various locations.

Some reviews we read were critical of the food and availability of alcohol.
This was not our experience , you could help yourself to wine and other
drinks were freely available in four other bars. We are moderate drinkers
and there was no shortage. There was ala carte dining available on one
night of our stay so we opted for the Italian night and again it
surpassed some meals we had in Italy !

I finally must compliment Guest relations as they were so helpful with
advice but if you do decide to go make sure you book a Bali Massage in
the spa, there is a young Lady from Bali and a young Man from Kurdskan and
they are just fantastic at their job.

I know I have gone on a bit but I feel that we might not have booked had
we taken all the negative comments onboard. This would have been a shame
if we had missed the best trip and best facility we have ever come across.
will be recommending to our friends .

Thank you Wings Abroad & The Venosa Beach resort , you are all fantastic.

Room Tip: They all have a sea view so they are all excellent. We booked a corner suite and it was amazing to o...

We have just had a fantastic five days there. The whole complex was very clean and very well kept and we were impressed with it. Hotel was great and food was lovely and plentiful.

Our room was well equipped, lovely and spacious and the view was amazing. We didn't get a double room as requested however we were located on a high floor as requested. The view was fantastic and I loved watching the sunrise from the balcony and our hotel room. We had a problem with the shower and reported this to reception and it was fixed by the time we returned to our room.

Getting a sun lounger before 9.30am was no problem but if you wanted a specific area of the poolside, you needed to get their about 8.30am and even earlier as the hotel got busier.

Didn't have any problem finding something nice to drink with the local spirits and they certainly weren't shy with the measures. In fact we heard some people asking them to put smaller measures in their drinks. We did notice that there seemed to be some preferential treatment taking place at the pool bar. Some guests seemed to get away with not queuing while others were quite rightly told to join the end of the queue. Also most had their drinks served in the standard plastic tumblers however the chosen few had normal sized glasses.

There were not many British there during our stay and unfortunately the majority of guests from other nationalities didn't reciprocate our friendly gestures. It certainly didn't spoil our stay though.

The only negative in our stay was a confusion over the deposit we had paid and the rate per night. We booked direct with the hotel and paid a deposit via paypal as requested however they seemed to have no record of this. Luckily we had printed off a copy of the email confirmation which they took a photocopy of. Unfortunately this was not only questioned on checking-in when they had confirmed it had been resolved, they also raised it again on checking-out. Once we produced the email yet again to prove we had paid the deposit, they still tried to charge us extra as they said the rate we were quoted was incorrect. We argued that this should have been made clear at checking-in if that was the case and we didn't have to pay the extra they were looking to charge us. The receptionist was most apologetic and was clearly uncomfortable with having to ask us for the money.

That said, we would definitely go back again but not in peak season as not sure they could cope as well at full capacity unless they have more staff.

Room Tip: Ask for a high floor for stunning views

Me and my boyfriend (aged 23&24) have just returned from a week at the Venosa (8th-15th June).

Hotel: The hotel was amazing! I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone. It’s perfect for both couples and families and perfect for a chilled week as it has a private beach and a jetty with sunbeds as well as hammocks around the resort. The animation team at the hotel have plenty to keep adults and children busy with constant games and activities.

Beware of the persistent photographer at the hotel who will persuade you to book a half an hour slot to act like a professional model! We were roped into this but were really pleased with our photographs. He took about 90 but we only purchased four for approx. £20.00 - a nice keep sake of our lovely stay.

Whilst at the hotel the majority of guests were Turkish or Bulgarian, the British guests seemed to arrive towards the end of our stay, all of whom were friendly. All of the staff at the hotel were very friendly and the majority spoke extremely good English.

Getting a sunbed wasn’t a problem, you would always find spare whatever time of the day. Towels were also provided within the room and around the pool.

Food: There was a massive choice available with different options every evening. The only downside was the breakfast didn’t have your traditional English fry up! Ice creams were served from 3.30pm and a pancake tent was also open daily for an afternoon sweet or savoury snack.

Entertainment: If we weren’t chilling out in the hotel bar with a chilled beer for the man and an amaretto and (diet) Pepsi for the lady, we were sat and watching the entertainment being thoroughly entertained - be prepared to get involved, the animation team will have you doing “the dance” by the end of your holiday!!

Room: After being lucky enough to stay in places such as The Mayfair in London and 5* hotels in Egypt, Madrid and Tenerife we were extremely pleased with the recently refurbished room which we couldn’t fault. The rooms were spacious, clean and modern and all overlooked the sea.

Transfer time: This was probably the biggest downfall as it was 1.5hrs on the way there and 2.5hrs on the way back. However, we knew this when we booked and the hotel made up for the long transfer.

Location: On arrival the hotel looks in the middle of nowhere. However, Altinkum was easy to get to on the Dolmus bus which cost 1.5 TL (approx. 60p) and run until after midnight from right outside of the hotel (your Rep is likely to tell you it takes 30 minutes…it took us no more than 15!). Altinkum is commercial with plenty of bars and fake goods!

Trips: Whilst staying at the Venosa we went on two trips. The family day cruise which was £19 and included lunch. Whilst very fun for the kids, we were able to relax on the top deck and try our best to return to the UK with that golden tan your friends and family are jealous of! We were told it was the equivalent of 4days tanning! This was great for my boyfriend who was constantly called white and for somebody so vein it did little for his ego (his nickname was Casper for the best part of a week!) Even as a couple without children it was a great day out and brilliant value for money. We also went to the Saturday market which was £8 and was just like your traditional Saturday market with the added bonus of plenty of fake goods. The men will hassle you but what else do you expect! Word of warning, whilst we do not smoke we were told the tobacco they desperately try to sell you is not the real deal!

Lastly if you are there long enough we were recommended by other guests to use the Spa (especially the Turkish bath & a full body massage) which is about £40, much cheaper than in England. You probably didn’t need to hear that as no doubt the friendly spa man will come and see you daily!

Stayed here two weeks 6th-20th May.Reception efficient and easy.Room very nice and great balcony with nice view. All balconys have seaviews. The beds are over a foot thick and very comfortable. The sun doesn`t shine on any apt after about 1.30 pm There are a lot of swallows who put on an ariel display from dawn to dusk. They had nests on all the balconys but they were all taken down,by staff I suppose because of their droppings.
The hotel itself is beautiful with georgeous white leather sofas and bucket chairs, but I`m afraid they won`t stay like that as some parents let their children climb all over them with their shoes on,the staff don`t seem to mind.....The bar is a bit small and I`d say it would be hard getting a drink when the hotel is full. The beer is EFES which is nice but they only half fill the glass you can get all local drinks, whiskey gin vodka wine etc. There is entertainment in a big hall most nights by the animation crew ,not great but ok.,.On Sun Tues and I think Fri nights there are 2 guys who sing near the bar and they are very good, nuch better than the big hall.
The food is excellent especially the deserts, very big selection.
Swimming pool and area lovely and very clean. The sea is very safe to swim in.The sand is gritty and uncomfortable to walk on and their are rocks on the seabed so try and bring a pair of those rubber slipons with you.Towels for the beach and sea are supplied free in a kiosk beside the waterslide so it`s not necessary bring them with you. Ice cream at about 4pm near the waterslide.Music is very loud around the pool so bring earplugs .
Its not worth going to temple of Apollo as there is nothing but one or two columns left standing.
There is a television room near the Italian restaurant where you can swap books .
A lovely relaxing holiday in a really beautiful hotel and I will definitely go again.
I hope this review will be of some help.
