Service - the speed of food was very slow. There were more staff than guests so we weren't sure why this was. Waiting 20 minutes for a coffee was a standard procedure. Lunch a la carte often took 1 hour 45 minutes for 2 courses also. Gave up waiting for desert and left a few times- 20 minutes waiting for a cheesecake which should have already been made..?
            - everyone was very friendly and accommodating however. Someone got very sunburnt and they got fresh aloevera delivered no problem. Everyone greeted you wherever you went and knew your name when you arrived.

Food - good choices. Menu varied daily for dinner. The steak was fantastic.  So was the seared tuna. We LOVED the buffet days- these were the best salads and foods of the trips.. also no wait for food.
- Once a cabbage salad was ordered off the menu  and it arrived as green leaves with slices of banana on top - not sure what went on here. Took another 12 minutes to wait for the correct order to arrive.A la Carte menu had 4 different courses, but because the food took so long we ended up only getting 2 courses. Had to ask for meals to be extra large because they were generally so small.
- They were fantastic about dietary requirements however, lacto-free and gluten free was easily done and remembered consistently. Loved the different fish. Ask to see the 'secret' vegetarian menu- some of the best food we had but must be pre ordered.

Rooms - great. Perfect location. Seagrape rooms right on the beach. Lovely hearing waves at night.

Atmosphere - disappointing and not 'beach resort style' which we expected to have lots of activities going on. Also we expected it to be a lot busier at Christmas... there were few other families there and there was no atmosphere at the bar. Everyone seemed to disappear at 9:45pm. Not for younger families.

Our 6 th visit to Spice Island and we are already booked for 2018 . From the minute you arrive in this lovely resort you feel pampered and cared for by all the amazing staff . We meet up with friends who we originally met in 2011 here .The breakfasts are lovely dinner in the evening is amazing the presentation alone is amazing before you even taste. Also if there is nothing you like you can request something earlier in the day and the response from Fabian is “ how would you like it cooked and what would you like with it “ nothing is too much trouble . Lunch is good and this year they introduced a salad bar which although varied and good we sometimes wish it was just as simple as helping yourself to lettuce / tomato / cucumber etc with a choice of dressing . Saying that the kitchen will always make a relatively simple salad on request .
Dinner is quite formal but we all like dressing for dinner it makes us and the hotel feel very special. We like to feel that we are in an amazing restaurant which we are .
Brian Hardy the manager is a lovely man always jovial and accommodating as well as having the best laugh ever ,he leads a wonderful team of people too numerous to mention however I will try : The bar staff led by Andre ,Lester ,Stephen ,Wilton and Lyndonna . restaurant Staff Adonis, Kinetta and a rising young star Kenesha whose smile alone makes you feel good.
The beach is lovely the Sea grape rooms amazing ,beds so comfy ,it’s why we keep returning as so it seems do most of the guests .

Well done Spice once again you gave us a great holiday can’t wait until November to see you all again .

We stayed at Spice Island resort during the 1st and 2nd week of December. I think it is useful to review the weather as it can help decide when to go. It was very good, we only had rain on the 1st day when it rained for about 3 times for an hour at a time, following this we had the odd shower lasting about half an hour.
This resort is certainly exceptional for the Caribbean, service is excellent, they want to do everything for you. On the beach they will always bring cold towels and seem to know exactly when you require a drink..The service in the restaurant is attentive ,efficient and extremely friendly and pleasant.
There is only one restaurant for evening meals but don't let that put you off, the menu changes every night and the food is as good as any good quality restaurant.Lunch time meals are served in the area around the bar which again is very pleasant and on our last day we had lunch brought to our room, they laid out a table on our patio, it was excellent and we wished we had done it before.
Everywhere is kept immaculate, staff are constantly cleaning but without really being noticed. Standards at the resort are high, the owners are always around making sure everything is as it should be, their aim is to exceed your expectations and they certainly do that.
The resort would probably be too quiet for young couples but if you are looking for a beach holiday with exceptional service in a quality environment then this would be hard to beat.
I can't see this being our last visit.

Room Tip: Sea grape rooms are the best if you like direct beach access.

From the moment you step out of your taxi you are greeted by a warm, welcoming staff that knows your name. Instantly, it feels like home. The rooms are clean and impeccable. The food for an all inclusive would challenge some of the finest restaurants in NYC. And if not on the menu, just let the chef know ahead of time and he'll prepare it for you. Though a little pricey, it is well worth it. Highly reccomended.

Room Tip: Sea grape rooms are right on the beach. Best room on the resort.

First of all and to be crystal clear I have no connection with Spice Island nor have I received any inducements, discounts or whatever with the hotel and/or travel agent.

I have travelled extensively in the Caribbean over the last 25 years and have been to Grenada before. Last week was my first time at Spice Island and it proved to be exemplary. The service, food, accommodation, staff and general ambiance was absolutely first class without exception. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff (I am not a demanding sort anyway) and their general attitude just has to be complimented. I don't normally write reviews but this place fully deserves what appears to be somewhat effusive. It reflects reality.

Great feature was that there was no scramble for loungers, pool or beach in direct contradistinction to the majority of other places I have stayed.

Well Done Spice Island!
