I stayed here with my family for 7 days trip to Mauritius. The private sea beach is wonderful. The food quality is good. The variation in daily meals are good but indian dishes need improvement in taste.
Staff is very helpful and supportive.
Overall a wonderful experience.

Staff: I cannot be any more complementary towards all the staff at this hotel, the service l received was exceptional. Nothing is too much trouble and they are always cheerful, friendly and sincere. This makes for a very friendly, safe, welcoming environment.

Food & Drink: I was also very pleased with the standard and variety of the food on offer. All meals are served on a buffet basis in a very nice restaurant over two floors. Breakfast included, pastries, breads, fruit, yoghurt and cooked with a chief on hand cooking eggs of your choice eg. fried, poached, omelette... Lunch and Dinner always included a choice of Fish and meat cooked various ways. Curry was always on offer and very nice. Desserts was catered for: cakes, fresh fruit... Wine with the meal was also available. In terms of the alcoholic, local drinks on offer, I have had better but nonetheless they were adequate. I would recommend the wine which was much nicer. The non-alcoholic fruit juice cocktails were delicious and ideal whilst relaxing around the pool and beach.

Hotel: I was very happy with the hotel, very clean, well maintained, organised and good security. Brilliant bar offering a superb view of the sublime Indian Ocean. Surrounding the bar is the lovely swimming pool. The pool has no time restrictions, the only rule being that children be survived at all times. There are plenty of Sunbeds, which are good quality and very comfortable, they all come with parasols, offering shade, if needed/wanted. Fresh, clean Beach towels are freely provided every day for the duration of your 'All Inclusive' stay.

The Beach is a stones throw away, small but pleasant. The sea is something else. You can stroll amongst the warm lapping turquoise waters forever and still only be waist deep. Free Water sports is available: Kayaks, paddle boats, snorkelling equipment. Scuba Diving is available for a fee, as well as a glass bottom boat, I didn't sample these so cannot give them a rating. Again, there are free sunbeds/parasols available for your use any time, day or night.

The Hotel Grounds are lovely to walk around, well maintained and clean. The gardens are a delight, full of tropical paints/trees.

The location of the hotel is my only criticism and a negative one at that: the hotel is completely isolated on the eastern shore. There is no where to go on foot, no walking paths, no bars, no restaurants, no neighbouring hotels, no points of interest. Unsurprising this can become boring particularly at night and stays at the hotel over a period of 14 days. I found that this was a common complaint of visitors also staying here for 14 days. Possibly this issue would not arise with stays of 7/10 days.

In a nutshell I found the location of the hotel very isolating. When considering this negative you must bear in mind that I am somebody who enjoys exploring the area around which I stay, on foot. I enjoy venturing outside the hotel arena, sampling the local area.

If you, as an individual, enjoy remaining in the grounds of your hotel, staying on the beach, are a big water sports fan, enjoy the gym and a spa session, then I suspect this would not be an issue for you.

Something also to be aware of with the east coast of the island is that it is often accompanied by a wind. In the hot humidity of the summer months this is most welcome, a god send by all accounts. But in the winter months can be rather cooling therefore not always so welcome. On the west coast there is no wind because of the sheltering factor of the mountains. Bearing this in mind, the west coast is a lot warmer during the winter months of Mauritius.

Rooms: I was very please with my spacious, clean, private room. I had a garden view which also overlooked the Indian Ocean, beautiful. Dressing gown, Slippers, Shampoo, Shower gel, Hand Cream are all freely provided in addition to the normal towels/bed linen. The Room came complete with fridge and kettle: tea, coffee, bottle of mineral water all provided daily.

Overall, I had a fantastic time here and would recommend the hotel, just bear in mind its isolated location.

Booked through a package tour from MakeMyTrip. The property is located at Eastern shore of Mauritius at Poste Lafayette area. Stayed here from 4-10 Jun 2018 with wife and 4 yrs old kid. Got a ground floor standard room (Room 107). It was a huge room with a veranda facing back side garden. Bathroom also had bathtub. (They have both bathtub/without bathtub rooms, you need to specify which one you want)

(Warning to Indians: Their toilets do not have hand shower and there was no drain on bathroom floor. Upon inquiry I found that they do not provide bucket/mug. Since bathtub doesn't has curtains so be very careful to not to wet the floor...else you'll have to walk on ankle high waters until the housekeeping wipes it off)

It has a wonderful swimming pool with kids pool attached. However its depth is quite deep considering kids. A bar (didn't try, fellow traveler informed that local beer glass cost is MUR 150) is attached with pool. Behind the pool is fun activity area and it also houses table tennis facility. This is the place where one can get evening complementary snacks/tea between 4-5pm.

Hotel also arranges Saga Dance Karaoke nights and DJ nights on specific days which is quite a fun. Remember, Mauritius closes down by 5 pm. So literally there is nothing to do in the evening. Further this hotel is located in quite a isolated area (so as most of the beach properties at Mauritius) so don't even think of going out on your own in the evening. At day time one can go to nearby Flacq market (Super U Mall is also there) through local bus (Bus No 26) which charges MUR27 one way.

The hotel has almost a small private beach which is quite neat and clean. (Never spotted any outsider at the beach) The beach faces the lagoon waters so it never goes above knees which is good for kids to play around. The hotel also provide free Kayak, snorkeling equipment, paddle boats through its boat house. One can also book paid service of Glass Bottom Boat, Snorkeling, scuba diving etc.

The Hartopp restaurant at the Hotel is excellent in terms of Indian food. It has two floors and they often serve food on both the floors. Both Breakfast and dinner had variety of Indian and continental dishes. However, many of the dishes were repetitive.

Hotel also has a small Gym and Spa. Never tried it but it looks very clean and in good condition.

Hotel also houses a small kids play area near restaurant.

The hotel staff and quite cheerful and welcoming. Each time they greet you with smile.

Housekeeping guys also did their job well. However, on first day the linen wasn't changed and spoons were not cleaned. Even same towels were folded and placed (even though we dropped the on floor...which means I wanted to get it change). Next day onwards this problem was rectified when I reported this on the reception.

Overall, it was a wonderful stay and I would highly recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for bathtub rooms, if you want. Sea facing delux rooms are good but it doesn't matter much if you stay in standard one.

Mauritius is the another name of aquamarine colour water : specially if you are water lover. It's bonus if you have good food in your trip. Vegetarian are always afraid of food availability. In Jalsa beach resort we really enjoyed our breakfast and dinner during our seven days trip. All seven days we had very good veg food served with good quality by some Indian sheaf(special thanks to him) sorry for not recollecting his name.

Visited in May very little rain 26 to 29 deg resort needs a bit of maintenance but staff very helpful and always with a smile. Snorkelling of the beach not very good but for small fee you can get out to the reef in the glass bottom boat where there is more to see. Plenty to see around the island with a bus ride to the market on Sundays and Wednesday a hoot. Food is 5 star and if you cannot find anything (unlikely) they will try to cook a special for you. Had great time.
