Beautiful location at base of mountains, view of ocean, family owned, excellent food and service. The owner is an amazing chef and very nice, gave extremely helpful advice regarding areas to visit on the peninsula. Twenty minutes from National Park that is beautiful to see as well. The room was perfect, no tv's in room, has wi-fi, is extremely peaceful.

Set in a quiet location, easy to explore the surrounding area and towns. The meal was delicious, albeit a bit expensive, however, that's expected in Iceland. Room was fine and if the forecast was better it seemed like a great location to see the Northern Lights.

Amazing place to stay during the winter - huge, warm rooms and extremely comfy beds! The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, and were so lovely when they found out it was our honeymoon - shout out to fellow Aussie Andrew who was particularly welcoming and great to chat to!

We stayed in a private room at the newly built Kast Guesthouse (the building we stayed in was built in 2014). We loved the location and found Snaefells to be one of our favorite areas to drive and sight see. The peninsula is supposed to be a great place to watch for the Northern Lights, an area frequented by clearer skies and fewer city lights. We really enjoyed visiting with Thor, the owner and guesthouse cook, who grew up in the rural area and lives on his family farm. We didn't stay for dinner, but the plates looked and smelled excellent and we wished we would have eaten there. We visited in November (the off-season) and enjoyed a very quiet stay. We highly recommend staying at the Kast Guesthouse!

Just OK place. Clean and new but very industrial prefab box rooms. No atmosphere, oh except for the fantastic mountain located just feet behind the hotel. Others were impressed by the friendly foreign staff, they were good, but we were not with the total lack of Icelandic people, but this was the case in many of the places we stayed over a two week drive. Food was just OK, and you are trapped a bit.
