Edem taverna is the resturant to pick if you want to eat along the port in Kolymbari, no doubt! The owner Andres greets you with a smile and a handshake and takes pride both in his food and in making you feel welcome and appreciated as his guest. If you want a real food experience don't order the standard fish platterns but go for todays fresh fish payed for by weight. Andres will happily bring you to the resturant kitchen and let you pick the fish and size you want for yourself and then grill it for you the way you want it prepared. The while juicy fish meat you get in some of them are amazing! Also try the steamed mussels! The flavours are brilliantly cooked and put together!
Try the House wine as well or the white "Josef" from the wine list! Andres is a wine farmer as well and will recommend when asked! You can safely trust his advice!
From some of the other reviews I suspect they've ordered the "standard tourist dishes" instead of trying out the best the taverna has to offer..
3 dishes for two people including a bottle of wine and sparkling water is about 50 Euro. And when you are all done, you get a homemade raki and a delicious piece of cake on the house along with a sincere handshake, smile and greatfulness when you leave. Wonderful!
