We were walking by to make a selection of restaurant to choose amongst a row of other quality, lovely restaurants when we were rudely approached by a staff member telling us the restaurant had no openings. We were NOT even considering this establishment & had reservations elsewhere. However, we have 5 more days of vacation in Tenerife and el cangregio will NOT be a restaurant we will be trying thanks to the RUDE STAFF THAT HAD no business telling our party to keep moving. SO, good luck to those who choose to seek service at this poor establishment.

Thank Lisa M

My wife and I tried several seafood restaurants on our recent stay. In fairness, none were bad, but El Cangrejo we felt stood out as excellent. The service was first class, the location harbourside lovely and the food itself first class. I’m happy to recommend El Cangrejo for a lovely dinner.

We decided to have a walk to los Abrigos from Golf Del Sue along the coastal path and had worked up a thirst and an appetite when we got to the restaurant which was in an idyllic location by the harbour.
We sat outside under the extended canopy and ordered drinks and an ice cold beer in a frozen glass appeared, just what the doctor ordered.
When ordering the menu is in many languages but be aware that the staffs English was not great, my Spanish is far worse!!
We ordered our meals and whilst we waited for the starters we were served hot bread and 3 sauces, a garlic mayonnaise, a green pesto and a slightly picante red pesto which were all gorgeous. A nice start to the meal.
We were very boring and both booked the same food off the menu and the starters were sizzling prawns in a garlic and chilli oil/butter sauce, unbelievably tasty with so much garlic and we both asked for more bread to mop up the sauce. I bet we both stink today!!
The mains were the mixed seafood spaghetti which was very tasty with clams, squid, prawns and 2 huge mussels topped off with a huge full grilled prawn. It was a massive portion which I thoroughly enjoyed whilst my wife managed just over half but also thoroughly enjoyed it
As we were sat outside in late March it started to get a tad cool, without asking heaters were brought out and we could sit comfortably and watch a great sunset in a relaxing way not pressured to move on.
Good value for money and would recommend

We visited this restaurant three times, twice for Dinner and once for Lunch. The menu is very extensive and for lunch the starter is more than sufficient. The portions are large, well cooked and delicious. Although there are vegetarian dishes, the main courses do not come with vegetables as standard. If you have a healthy appetite then go for a starter and main course, otherwise share the starter! The choice of desserts is pre-packed, ie they are not prepared on site. After the starter and main course we could not manage a dessert. The prices are extremely reasonable. Seating inside for about 20 persons and similarly outside. The atmosphere is warm and friendly, the Owner has a great sense of humour.
