Reached Losar on a cold evening. Light snowfall welcomed us too.
A perfect cuppa chaai was just what we needed and got. :)
And we instantly felt at home.

We entered into the 'glass room' which offered a spectacular view of the village of Losar and the snowcapped mountains. The room we had was spacious and clean.

The cottage from outside blends wonderfully well with the village-scape of Losar. From within as all you would require for a perfect stay.
Warm and hospitable people. Norbu and Tenzin worked really hard to make sure we had no troubles.

Sahil, thanks for all the help you extended to us. :)
You must contact him for any kind of guidance you might need to plan your trip in the region. Like many have before me have written...he can advice you for the best.

It was great to have food besides the fire in a traditional style seating in the dining room.
All food fresh and hot...just the way you need it. We were served tsacha (Tibetan butter salted tea), hot pakoras, paranthas, rajma chawal...and loads many delicious treats.

Leena, thanks for being such a wonderful host. We enjoyed our stay totally. You made us feel at home. :)

The Nomads Cottage and Losar is a place you would definitely want to come back. Thank you very much for making our stay so pleasant!!! We are sure to fondly remember the vacation we had here at TNC.

“Superb Experience”
Reviewed 10 June 2015 for a stay in May 2015

I had booked 3 Rooms from 29/05/2015 for 3 nights. We were 3 couples & 3 Kids. The location of the Cottage is superb with panoramic views all around. U feel like u are in the middle of Ice covered mountains. The rooms are basic but clean & neat which is a difficult task to maintain in such remote areas. Norbu & Tenzin were there at our service full time and never said no to our demands. They are very hardworking people with a smile on their faces always !!! The food was good & Hygienic. The owner Mr. Saahil is a great person and will give u proper guidance about the itinerary and other details.
The Cottage has a Baithak or Living room with a fireplace sort of thing to keep u warm which is a great place to chill out with friends & family members.
All in all a very nice experience. Will definitely visit again as i have to see Chandratal Lake & Kunzum pass which i missed on this trip as the roads were closed.

“Name's Nomad, but the cottage is quite homely...”

The journey to Losar is so arduous that if the Nomad's Cottage isn't there, you are likely to carry your sore bones for a month. That said, its a great place to stay at in Spiti Valley. In fact, don't stay at Kaza, just go to Sahil's Nomad's cottage. This guy knows his mountains... he can advice you for the best. Listen to him and follow his guidelines. What impressed me the most was that he extended his courtesy not just to us, but even to people who were not staying at his cottage. While I was there a group of 4 was stranded there with a flat tire in a cheap rental Innova from Delhi. Sahil gave them food, tea, shelter for 6 hours and got their rental car fixed. All for nothing but smiles and some friendly chatter. True Story... don't believe me? Watch the 3rd part of my vlog on Spiti Valley tour and see for yourself at http://www.youtube.com/bobbysandhu

The rule of thumb is that if you are a Himalayan trekker, you know this guy. If not, you are a faker.

“A perfect end to a long journey!”
Reviewed 5 April 2015 for a stay in June 2014

We were a group of 5 friends and stayed at Nomad's Cottage for 1 night during our visit. I wish we had more time to spent at Losar and have stayed at Nomad's Cottage for few more days. The host, Sahil & his wife (who wasn't there but she was the one who managed to get us booked in as we approached her at the very last minute). Sahil is a wonderful host and I would say a great travel adviser. You can't praise him enough for all his hospitality. The place in totality was awesome. The rooms, the beds, the dining area..all just perfect!! Anyone who likes that warm..cozy feeling would simply love this place I bet. Norbo and Gonpo are the best cooks in the world!! No one can beat the aloo-gobhi di sabji they make. Me & my husband have the plans to go for a winter trek sometime soon as well.. and we definitely would be staying for a longer period this time with Sahil at Nomad's Cottage. A highly recommended place to stay and relax!

“Hospitality doesnt get warmer”
Reviewed 5 March 2015 for a stay in August 2014

Happened to stay at the cottage in the month of August with my wife and mom. The cottage has an awesome location and overlooks the village. The view changes with the change in light of the day and looks amazingly beautiful at early morning and at dusk.

The rooms are very well equipped, very comfortable. The dining area is a replica of the local Spiti culture and be prepared to be amazed by the culinary journey that the two boys would take you to. The food is kept to basic but tastes very well.

The location of Losar by itself is strategic, if you are coming from Manali you can visit Chandrataal lake and stop by, if you are on an onward journey to Manali you can stop by here and leave early morning for Chadrataal lake which looks most beautiful around that time.

You also have an option of keeping your base at the cottage and camp close to the Chandrataal lake at some extra charges. The team at the cottage is well equipped to make arrangements . While you have an option of driving upto the lake you can also trek from Kunzum pass, it is a 9 km trek and is between easy to moderate level.

There is an amazing team of Kunga & Norbhu who are the best that one can be at hospitality, They will treat you as if you have come to their home. The cottage is a must stay point for your trip to the valley.
