After various visits to this artistic culinary well in the pretty village of La Perriere we received an initial less than enthusiastic reception as we arrived for lunch at the same time as quite few others!
However Robert ( co owner with Laurent) recognised us from a fleeting visit to see Mimicakes Paris who helps out occasionaly.. and was extremely pleasant and welcoming.. Even speaking in english. Franc was helping in the kitchen and after a warm hello we took our seats in the lovely courtyard.
Our cocktails were delicious and lunch was a delight.
We enjoyed excellent service and excellent food from a very comprehensive menu. Portions were a good deal more generous than in the past as well as delicious.
So from us to Team Horbe merci c'etait un experience premiere classe...

I can honestly say that in the 8 years that I have been living in France, I have never come across anything like this fabulous place. Overflowing with antiques, there is charm in every corner. Tea served in a silver teapot was just as expected and we loved the ambiance....it is not everyday you get to have tea surrounded by fabulous antiques and lovely decorative objects for the maison.
Wish that we would have tried the lovely looking cakes but we were full from the three course lunch that we had eaten prior to stopping.....we will be back but just wish that we lived closer :-)

Highly unusual but delightful setting. When we turned up there were no other diners and they were about to close but stayed open just for us. Food was very good. Well worth a visit. Highly recommended.

Stunning little place quite unique combining antique shop tea room a very antique trophy chandellier stuffed dinning room and charming garden.. in all rather camp and astonishingly Parisian right bang in the middle of Normandy.
If you could sit by a fire in winter with your feet up reading Paris Match being served tea surrounded by lots of interesting antiques then this is the place to do it!
We opted to sit in the more opulent dinning room with its opulent vaulted ceiling chandelliers and a picture gallery of pirtraits in gilt frames looking down on the splendid antique tables and chairs.
You could be in a gay rather over the top front room or an artists exhition in the Faubourg st Honore it is camp artistic and fun!
endless things to look at although it is so stuffed you need to keep your elbows in a little not to topple over any artifacts that surround you!
The lunch was delicious. The menu french and rather traditional.
the kitchen is open and visible as you walk past the many cakes and canneles freshly made.
Copper pans hang on the wall and Laurent and his partner are usually busy there either preparing veg or baking...or welcoming friends.. so you feel at home right away.
I love visiting this artistic and interesting and very charming oasis in La Perriere a village in itself worth a visit.
I very rarely leave empty handed and enjoy the extrodinary and unique environment that La Maison d'Horbe offers the visitor.

La Maison D'Horbe was recommended to us by a local who dines there regularly. We were greeted warmly by Robert, who welcomed us to this unique restaurant and answered the many questions we had about the venue. The courtyard is a lovely space, a very tranquil and relaxing area to enjoy what was to come. We had some of the most flavoursome food we've ever experienced, knowing that the chef, Laurent, had just prepared it only a few feet away from us. The open kitchen (that you can actually walk through to get to some of the tables) is the heart of the restaurant, and it's amazing how well oiled the machine is! Laurent's home-made fois gras (our chosen starter) was unbelievable, and the remaining courses did not disappoint. Visiting the restaurant is also a feast for the eyes with the mix of unique furniture, art, crockery etc. I would highly recommend visiting in any capacity. Romantic meal, afternoon tea, brunch etc It ticks every box.
