If I had the option of zero stars, that's what I would give them, and it would be solely for their customer service. I booked a room here, and 2 months after my booking, they cancelled my reservation, supposedly because my credit card was rejected. I called the hotel, and was told they would call booking.com (I booked it through them) and see what they could do; she promised to call me back. None ever called me back, instead I got an email letting me know that my reservation was cancelled and that there was nothing they could do (the email had 2 attachments but they were neither in English nor in Greek, more like gibberish). I called booking.com and they promised to call Mavra Studios and see what they can do; they promised to call me back. I was informed that an email was sent to me through booking.com the day before, that gave me 24 hours to resolve this. Because I don't access my email everyday, I missed that, so they proceeded to cancel my reservation. I called the credit card company and they confirmed that Mavra Studios never attempted to get a pre-approval.
a) my credit card is valid and the credit card confirms this place did not try to get pre-approval
b) when I asked the hotel employee to make a new reservation, she said there were no more rooms available
c) when I checked on booking.com, they show 1 last room available but for $150 more than what I paid for
d) I send them an email asking them to contact me and give me the number of the credit card they used and supposedly was declined. They never responded to that email.
e) the hotel employee promised to call me back; she never did
I have been travelling all over the world for more than 30 years now; this is the very fist time a reservation of mine was cancelled.
To me, that is UNACCEPTABLE. Needless to say I am never staying at Mavra Studios, and never using booking.com again.
