This would have had more appeal if the tour was shorter we has a long talk on how cork is graded and what it used for and then had a tour of factory when the same information is given so it gets rather boring. Did get a nugget of information that made us laugh if we understood it right the price of a bottle of champers is half the money for it goes on the very posh cork that is made in 3 sections. The gift shop had some nice things but very expensive.

This was a fun tour! Our tour guide had the perfect amount of humor and was entertaining. There was a lot to learn about cork too! If you can, avoid Fridays as this is their busiest day. There is a gate across the entrance, but all you have to do is push the little button on the wall to drive in. Also, just give them a call to schedule. They were fast to respond to email, but I called since it was last minute-they speak English well.

We found this tour to be informative and the tour guide well informed and interesting. The first part of the tour is focused on the cork tree and how it produces. We had no idea! Also informative about wine/champagne corks. It gave us a whole new appreciation and knowledge about the quality of corks, what countries use the best corks and how champagne corks are formed. How long a tree takes to produce explained a lot about why cork is expensive when it is a good quality. I highly recommend this tour, especially on a rainy day when there are no outdoor activities available. The only disappointment was the shop at the end. Unlike most tourist stores this shop could use a wider variety of items.

We have taken the tour several times. Each year the tour is more developed and more options for tours are available. We stopped in at the factory store to buy cork which my wife uses to make purses etc. A roll of cork one meter ranges in price from 15-19 euros for the kind to be used in making purses. Some of the cork can cost up to 200 euros a meter. Friendly staff.
