The caldeiras are fascinating to watch and breathe. It's a wonder how some reach boiling point. The energy of nature is beautiful to behold.

We walked all over looking at the bubbling waters. You could hear the roar of the hot water through small openings in the ground. The area is well kept and parking is nearby. A nice stop.

In the middle of the small town of Furnas. Lovely walking paths to each of the bubbling hot springs - interesting to see. Yes smelly but what else would you expect. So very quaint.

This is a really unique experience. Yes, it does smell, but your nose quickly gets used to the smell. It is really neat to see the hit springs boiling out of the holes. Worth a visit!
