We stayed 2 weeks at Elaionas Nikou (LESBOS), a perfect description for its wonderful location between the olive trees. we choose this location based on the description of this HomeAway page, but the reality was even beyond expectations. Upon receipt, we were greeted by the owner Alexis and he took al the time to familarise us not only with the villa, but also as almost our tour guide with all information, where to shop, and places to visit. We did not have to go for shopping immediately, there was enough in the fridge, bread and butter and of course olive oil and a welcome drink for the first 24 hours. Two weeks was just enough to explore in a rithme of once per 2 days the entire island and in between we enjoyed the beach, all facilties including places to sit in the shade under a beuatifull tree or enjoy the water of Gera's Bay, which had for us Dutch people already an acceptable temperature of 20 degrees early May. The only negative point was that Alexis recommended a pottery shop in Mandamados, which we twice tried to visit, but turned out to be closed both times that we went, but Alexis even gave us as a memory one of the nice fishes that may be even visible in one of the photo's here. So it is clear that there is no doubt we will recommend this house to everybody. We made a nice photobook which we will use not only for recommendation but also for ourselves to always remember this perfect vacation at this beautiful location. Thanks Alexis for everything, including the cake we found in our room after one of our trips!

“The perfect place to relax”
Reviewed 19 August 2014 for a stay in August 2014

At Elaionos Nikou we got exactly what we hoped for a week of total relaxation – swimming, reading, eating and drinking, playing cards and much more….There was wonderful scenery, incredible quiet, a small beach usually entirely to ourselves, a beachside fish taverna 500 meters down the road and a short drive to the nearby town. There are about 6 stone houses, tastefully built and beautifully clean, situated within an olive grove bordering the Gera Gulf. Alex, the owner, was tremendously helpful, with a great briefing on the area when we arrived. The views, whether from our house or anywhere on the estate, were perfect. There was a seemingly endless range of places to sit and enjoy a glass of wine and the view, whether one’s own terrace or the various chairs, tables and loungers distributed around the grounds, on the beach and just above it. I had wondered whether our teenage children would be a little bored with so little action for a week. No way – one of them declared it the most perfect beach ever – it had quiet, it had shade but above all, it had snorkelling! Thrown in as an after-thought, our ancient snorkel seemed to be in constant use as the stony beach made for clear water and perfect views of a range of fish. The stones and the occasional encounter with a spiky sea anemome thing make wetsuit shoes a good idea. We bought some very easily in a shop near the supermarket opposite the town car park. All in all, an absolutely perfect place which set us up ideally for a busy week of site seeing in Turkey afterwards.
