We stayed at Captain Manos last year in July-august for more then two weeks. The rooms are nice, clean and confortable. The location is perfect since if you don't want to rent a car or motobyke you can reach at least four beaches by walk.
The landlady Tess is very kind, she offered fresh water and lemonade, was very helpful and organized a dinner with other hosts. She cooked for us and we could choose between greek or philippine good. Very good
Very nice, I would go back!

Lovely view of Grikos bay. Private, quiet, restful. Tess, the owner picked us up at the dock, and we were taken back on our return home. We were able to request anything needed from Tess, and found her to always be friendly and helpful. Our studio was cleaned regularly and sheets changed. A perfect place to hibernate/rest/recuperate from our busy lives. Only downside is that there are no shops in Grikos, so if you want to cook, you need to have transport to go to the main town (4k away) on the island. You can use the bus that comes 2 hourly, but we chose to rent a quad, which was great fun. Highly recommend this.

Room Tip: Bring a cafetiere if you like brewed coffee...

I have been coming to Patmos since 1997 and this year my wife and I stayed for the first time in the town of Grikos - and it will not be the last. Captain Manos Studios is a cozy, laid back and friendly establishment located in a panoramic position overlooking the town of Grikos. Our apartment was comfortable, clean and had a great view from the balcony (pictures attached). The bedroom had air-conditioning and there was a small kitchenette with hot plate, sink, fridge and a small table. Parking was free. The place is capably run by Tess, a warm and welcoming Filipina/Greek who is raising three teenage sons and has been living in Patmos for many years. She was kind enough to pick us up from the port and drop us off when our time in Patmos came to an end, and also hooked us up with a very reasonably priced motor bike rental. While this is a relatively no frills establishment, i.e., there is no breakfast, in house restaurant, wireless internet, etc., all of these things are available close by, and it was very good value for money on an island where prices can typically be quite high in mid-summer. It is a perfect spot for a self-catered holiday. Captain Manos is a short walk to the excellent Petra Beach, and is less than a ten minute motor bike ride away from the historical town of Chora as well as the port city of Skala. I would highly recommend Captain Manos to both couples and families looking for a simple, reasonably priced and friendly place in a great location on the enchanting island of Patmos.
