On arrival everything seemed great - a couple of minor problems, card keys didn't work initially and safe failed due to batteries needing replacement but all sorted very quickly by hotel staff.
Nice clean rooms, food excellent at every meal, restaurant staff lovely and friendly.
Views from all rooms are great - sunsets beautiful.
Lots of steps to and from rooms, reception, beach and restaurants so really not suitable if you have walking issues but it does state this on their info.
Being able to hire beach towels for the week is great although the hotels antiquated paper system meant that our towel hire card was mis-placed by staff and I had to hang around for almost an hour while they decided if I should get by deposit back or not! Not great at the end of our holiday.
As we had a late night flight and had to check out at 12 noon we were told we could have a room until 6pm but for an extra 50 euros - a bit too much I feel, we were not however told that we could have used a courtesy room until we complained about having to sit around in the heat for over 8 hours - the customer service rep apologised but it was a little late at this stage and our opinion of the hotel was that they couldn't care less about us once we had checked out and had our all-inclusive wrist bands taken. All food or drink after 12 noon on your departure day is chargeable although depending on which receptionist you, saw some people did get to keep their wrist bands so happily helped themselves to the buffet and bar all afternoon!!
The luggage room is very small and was full by 12 on our departure day so there was no-where safe for us to leave our luggage for the entire day - not great when you have 9 hours to kill before going to the airport! We were told to leave our cases in an un-used restaurant but at our own risk.
Over-all the hotel is clean and in a great position - the small village is lovely and Taverna Sebastian is well worth a visit or 2 - great food and friendly atmosphere but I feel that a few details within the hotel could be improved. Still great value though and I would recommend this hotel for a relaxing break without children.

Room Tip: All rooms sea view - rooms on lower floors quiet in my experience, no air con noise and cool corrido...

Just returned from a great relaxing break. Stunning views, great hotel, food good, very clean, friendly staff and perfect peace (no kids allowed). Lots of nice places to sit during the day, particularly liked the roof garden, so relaxing for reading a book. Tunnel bar also a favourite. Can't comment on evening entertainment as didn't take part in any of it. Very hilly so not suitable for anyone with walking difficulties, but good exercise for walking off all the food and drink! Take a walk down to the village and visit Robin's Nest, great little friendly bar. If you're stressed out working all year, this is the perfect place to come and unwind, don't go if you are looking for wild nightlife. Been to Corfu many times but never to this resort, didn't want to come home, will definately be back.

Just returned from this hotel (4th-11th May).

First impressions were that the hotel lobby, balcony and pools looked clean and very modern. the views over the sea were very very pretty. A hotel like this anywhere else would cost a fortune for this type.

Negatives ( food and entertainment )

The hotel has many positives which I shall mention later. However it is all let down by the horrendous food.

We went AI and found that the food looked like it had been constantly recycled from the previous day. None of the food ever tasted fresh. The meat, fish and chicken all came with sauces which would mask the fact this was happening. The fish was one of the worst things i have ever tasted and I couldnt eat any more. Breakfast consisted of very small sausages that were very watery, bacon that was cooked on half and near raw on the other. Scrambled eggs that were more like porridge... beans that were stodgy and film over the top..

We found many other people on the holiday that were off a similar opinion and other that were actually happy. I think it is important to remember the price that was paid for this AL 4 star PLATINUM hotel and judge whether you think that it deserves to have this standard of food.

The drinks consisted of 2 non alcoholic cocktails ( tutti frutti and cindarella ) both poured out of machines like slush puppy. The alcoholic cocktails were also very poor. If you like normal spirit and mixer then this will be ok.

The evening entertainment was Kareoke, Piano player, Quiz, Piano, Greek Night, Quiz. The greek night was pretty good however all the others were very dissapointing. The piano player does a 2.5 hour medley of musical performance and it is boring, loud and he tries to be flashy by running his hand down the notes from one side to the other.

POSITIVES

The views of the hotel are lovely, the pool is a little cold but should warm up in season and it is always clean. The provision of chairs, loungers and umbrellas are pretty nice on 3 different areas and also down at the beach which is private for the residents including a beach side bar.

The staff at the hotel on general are pretty nice, ektor and mickey at the pool are the friendly animation team along with Micheal at the pool side bar.

The restuarant staff are hard working and helpful but not in control of the quality of the food so not to blame.

The cleanliness of the public and private areas including the rooms are always very fresh and clean.

Overall

I would not return to this hotel. Yes it looks and feels great and on genaral we had a lovely relaxing time. We like our food fresh, tasty and choice and this falls way short of the expectation and is definatly not worth any more than 3 star rating... especially not 4 platinum. If the hotel can sort this out then it would be a gem of a hotel.

This was our first visit to Corfu but it won't be our last. The hotel has some stunning views and just about every room has a sea view. Each evening before dinner we would spend an hour or so on our balcony just watching the sun go down with a glass of wine.

The hotel staff are very friendly and nothing is too much trouble for them. Any problems or requests are dealt with efficiently and in a friendly manner leaving the impression that we, as guests, are important to them. Not always the case with many other hotels I have stayed in.

The food was fine, plenty of choice even towards the end of the sitting as we tended to eat later than most. Maybe a little more Greek food would have suited my taste but there is always the Tavernas in the village to satisfy that.

I wasn't sure what the weather would be like for the last week in April but it got better and better as the week went on, hot enough to need a parasol for some shade. This seems an ideal time to visit as it's not too crowded either. The hotel is part of a group and if the standards are the same throughout, we would have no hesitation in trying one of the others for another take on the Greek experience.

Have only got good comments for this hotel. Staff are very friendly, food is excellent, very good variety. Pool a little cold but obviously as the season gets warmer the pool will also. Evening entertainment could do with tweaking. The village is worth visiting. We hired a car from the hotel at a great rate and visited Corfu. No sign of wasps as written about on previous reviews. Upgraded to a sea view bungalow, quite a steep walk up the hill so would definitely book into the main hotel when I come back again. Will look to return in 2013 if I can get a great deal like I did this time. Thanks Travelzoo !!
