This hotel pops up time and again on various websites as being really cheap - especialy compared to all other Bath hotel prices - so what's the catch? Well to be fair, their isn't one! This place is really good value. On the plus side if you get a river view room, you have a terrific view, Parking is free and plentiful breakfasts are great value and the staff are really pleasant and welcoming. There are some great wlaks nearby and a couple of ok 'gastro-pubs' in walking distance.finally you can avoid all the parking hassle you get in Bath by catching the bus straight into the city frm 100yards up the road. If your a little more ambitious y there is a really pleasant canal-side walk which gets you into the heart of bath in less than an hour. of course there are downsides - the rooms are a little 'tired' as is the hotel generally and I'm not sure that the Italian themed restaurant is a great hit (athough we didn't try it). But pound for pound, this is a good lace to saty for a short city break on a budget - happily use it again. Remember - this is not 4 star luxury and some of the reviews that are critical do seem to expect an awful ot for their money!

Room Tip: Superior Rooms give a river view

We needed to book something quickly and this hotel was available, What a beautiful little hotel set on the riverside with a water mill etc. Received a really nice welcome from reception! Room 227 was in the annexe part of the hotel, from the outside it reminded us of a Butlins holiday camp, but inside was lovely. Tea & coffee facilities, and bathing lotions provided. Excellent value for money! The shower is absolutely incredible! Power at its best! Probably not great for noise levels, and should possibly apologise to the neighbours in 226 & 228 as the walls were kind of thin! Didn't have breakfast, but I reckon that would have been great too! Only criticism would be the car park, very tight!
Will defo return!

I've just got back from the Old Mill Hotel, and to be honest i couldn't wait to write a review on here.
The people who have put good reviews are either off their heads or they have no standards whatsoever!
I was going to give it 1 star but because the staff were all quite friendly (or embarrassed to be working there) i gave it 2.
I was on a business trip so only stayed two nights and spent most of the time in my room watching a VERY small t.v. Most of the things that are listed as being standard in the room were missing, like hairdryer, iron, ironing board etc.. The room i had was number 103 in the main building, it had a nice view of the river Avon and the toll bridge, however, the extremely large gap under the door (about 2 inches) let so much light in at night that i didn't have to turn the light on. The window which is double glazed PVC had a gap were it doesn't close properly so the traffic noise in the morning is horrendous. The carpet in my room was absolutely filthy, looked like it hadn't been hoovered for months.
The whole place badly needs renovating, the carpets are all in bad need of upgrading.
I only payed £90 for two nights so i suppose i got a good deal, but i overheard the manager on the phone taking a booking and he quoted £295 for 3 nights! If i'd payed anywhere near that i would be seeking a solicitor instead of writing this review.
There are a lot of hotels around the area, and yes you'll pay more for them but at least you won't get home wanting a shower.... oh, that was something else, I had two showers while i was there, both freezing cold. Left it running, waiting for it to get warm...... 20 mins later, still ice cold!
Don't waste your money!

Room Tip: Room 103 has a nice view

We are very sad to read of this review and hope to clarify one or two issues with you. We would like to reassure you that we do have hairdryers, etc on request at reception, this is all stated in the Information Sheet in your bedroom. You should have wanted for nothing as any of these items are easily accessible from reception on request. There would be no need to leave your room, just dial reception and we will speedily delivery these to you on request to your room. As, unfortunately, in the past, we have experienced theft of these we have, firstly tried to chain them down but alas this has been without much success. About the TVs: unfortunately we do not have big screen televisions in all of our rooms, but have never had a complaint of the size of the televisions before. There are some of the rooms that do have the bigger screen televisions than others. Again, something you could have approached us at reception and we may have been able to accommodate your expectations. But be assured that there is a television set in each and every room. As far as the shower is concerned we cannot understand why you did not come to the reception area or ring us from your room for assistance? If, after a couple of minutes of cold water you should have requested immediate attention to the shower but to let it run for 20 minutes and not say a thing is a bit worrying? All the showers have just been replaced in all the rooms and we’ve been having raving reviews about them. This matter could have been resolved without issue. About the carpets: we can assure you that we have a professional carpet cleaner and that all our carpets are deep cleaned but because of the pale colour of the carpets and being a countryside hotel, next to a river, they have become stained over the years but they are extremely clean. You will be pleased to hear that we are in the process of replacing all the carpeting. Regarding your review on our Restaurant, you made a complaint that you had to wait over 25 minutes for your meal. After checking our CCTV cameras we found that the waiting time for your meal was 8m 13s and not 25 minutes and hence we are very confused as why you made that complaint. Glad to hear that you enjoyed the view of the river Avon and toll bridge, it is rather breath-taking and we are pleased to report back to you that you are not the only guest that enjoyed the view so much, it is much loved and enjoyed by all. With all good wishes and kind regards.

We stayed here just before Christmas as we wanted easy access to the town, this was the perfect location, just a short drive. We stayed in the lodge which from the outside didn't look much but inside was clean, comfortable and modern. The bathroom was spacious with a lovely big power shower. We ate in the bar for dinner, the food was good and reasonably priced. The water mill and the river outside the restaurant was a great surprise, obviously during a summer visit this would be a real treat.
We slept well, the room was warm and the bed was comfy and made up with quality bedding. We enjoyed a great full English in the morning from the buffet style server, with plenty of coffee and toast bought fresh to the table upon request.
A bargain price for this stay and we'd definitely do it again.

Stayed on a wet and horrible Saturday night. Was apparently upgraded to the main hotel from the Lodge as they were quiet which looking at the Lodge I was pleased about. The Lodge is in the car park and resembles an American Motel set up so just make sure you know what you are booking before you click as I had no indication when I booked that they even had a lodge and assumed I was booking for the hotel.

Nice clean room in main hotel with excellent heating and river view and balcony/walkway shared between two rooms.

Ate in restaurant and food was very tasty although the advice to 'book as it gets busy' in hindsight was probably just a ploy to encourage you to eat in as there were only 2-3 other tables in use.

Thought I had lucked in when I saw the jacuzzi type water-jet bath however it was non functioning . That said it was nice and large with plenty of hot water.

At £82 for a Saturday Night wouldn't say it was exactly good value for money.

Pleasant stay non the less.
