Super welcome 'to our home' from Michl and his wife.
Rooms as expected for a family hotel, spotlessly clean, linen quite new.
Food excellent as was the service from his son, daughter and a few helpers, I was advised that most is prepared with fresh and local ingredients, and it all tasted like it. Plenty of variety for the buffet breakfast, including a delicious home-made jam alongside the usual portioned jams, pate, cheeses and nutella. Meats, cheeses and breads varied during the week so it wasn't a case of 'same old'.
Careful though of venturing into the basement, this is a part of Michl's business but seems more of a hobby - distilling Schnapps using local fruits - once down there you may end up with a rather extended visit as you taste the many different varieties.
Locality is very good for accessing this part of the Inn valley. 15 miles along the A12 motorway and you're in Innsbruck, but because of the usual city parking I used public transport - bus 4125 hourly from outside the post office (100 metres from the hotel) - just under an hour right into the centre of Innsbruck at the combined bus/tram/railway station €5.15 and well worth it as a sightseeing excursion. Same price for the train (half-hourly) which takes 20 minutes and is only 5 minutes walk away from the hotel.More
