We took our daughter out for birthday lunch with three of her friends. Although I had made a reservation 7 days ago, they had lost it. That was OK as there were spare tables, but in the fluster to look for our reservation and seat us, they forgot to put the peanuts on our table. Rib house is not usually my thing so I ordered fish and chips, usually safe. Two pieces of fish, the second piece of fish was so over cooked it was just a large piece of crunchy batter on the plate.
The restaurant is in a lovely setting which makes it a pleasant outing, I just hope that management listen to these reviews and looks for ways to improve customer experience.

Went along for Fathers Day and was really excited to get some awesome BBQ ribs. We had a generally nice meal and the service was really good but unfortunately the ribs were just really average. They were very nice and tender but they need to review their BBQ sauce and rub recipe because the ribs had no spice, tang or smokiness just pure sweetness.

On the positive side food wise the cheesy bacon fries were nice and my father in law liked the salmon.

So in conclusion, don't come here for ribs, they aren't worth it, perhaps get a burger or steak instead.

I ordered well done steak and pork ribs. The steak was poor quality, gristly, tough, and I couldn't eat it. I had to spit it out. The ribs were tasteless and chewy. When they asked me how my meal was, I was told it was my fault for ordering a well done steak. My potato was way undercooked and inedible. My family member had grilled chicken, it was tough and she couldn't eat it. She ate her salad instead. How wrong can you go with grilled chicken. I have eaten at lone star at glendale years ago and it was always amazing. This new Lone Star at Kotara is CRAP!
I paid $74 for lunch. I'll never eat there again. And I work in the public sector so I'll spread the word as much as I can!!!

Visited Lone Star for the first time at the Kotara restaurant, and we won't be going back.

We ordered cheese fries for our starter to share, and 3 burgers and a kids meal for mains.

The cheese fries were good. It would be difficult to stuff up chips, cheese and bacon.

The burgers though were terrible. Everything from the bun to the egg to the meat was overcooked. 2 of the burgers were edible, albeit dry and in need of much additional sauce.
One burger was beyond recognition. It hadn't been food for at least the last 20 minutes of its cremation.

When we found one of the staff and explained the problem, showing her the blackened disc that was once an egg, she offered to have the egg cooked again, and disappeared to the kitchen, missing the point entirely. While the burger went cold they charred another egg and bought it out. It looked no different to the egg that went into the kitchen. It could have been the same egg reheated. Needless to say that the burger and the charcoal egg went untouched.

On the plus side the girl who originally seated and served us was fantastic. She was very helpful and even quietly suggested to the person ringing up the bill that they should probably not charge us for one of the burgers, so it saved us from doing it.

To Loan Star, please get someone in your kitchen that cares about what they're doing. With so many great eateries in the rooftop dining area we're disappointed we took a chance at Lone Star. Never again though.
