This place is ideal if you are looking for a quiet alternative to the big hotels on the coast. It is ideally located provided you have a car with GPS and want to explore the island. Our room was large, quiet and nicely decorated. Very nice bathroom. Roger and Maria are lovely and so is Toby, their dog. Breakfast is on the terrace, prepared on the spot and varies daily. If I have one tip for Roger and Maria it would be to open their pool to guests during the summer months cause it was really hot!

We had never been to Malta before and knew little about it. We were in good hands. Roger met us at the airport, helped us to pick up our rental car, and then equipped us with his GPS so that we could explore this interesting (but a bit bewildering) island. Their rooms are very comfortable, and breakfast is delicious and pleasingly different each morning. The house is set in a pretty garden in a quiet section of the island... convenient to every place you will wish to visit. It would have been a mistake to stay at a hotel... we would have missed so much. Thanks to Roger and Maria, we left Malta feeling we had learned a lot about Malta in a very short time. This is a perfect choice for your next visit to Malta!

Room Tip: They have two rooms. Both are attractive and comfortable. One has a tub/shower and one has a shower, if that distinction matters to you.

MALTA is not the most obvious choice for cyclists thinking of cycling there. Tuscany, France and Sicily sell themselves far better, but for those prepared to make the effort cycling in Malta can be every bit as good as anywhere in Europe.
I enjoyed 4 good days cycling on Malta and Gozo and look forward to doing it again in the not too distant a future there should be no reason why Malta couldn't compete with other European locations in attracting cyclists who wish to holiday here in addition the weather was ideal I was there between the 1st and 11th January and it was even warm enough to swim in the sea.
On a personal note Naxxar is a good location (Almost in the center of the island) and has a good variety of shops and places to eat and SELMUNETT was an ideal place to stay comfortable informative and friendly. It was not essential to have a car, as the bus system on both Malta and Gozo was very good and easily accessed from SELMUNETT.
I stayed at SELMUNETT in Naxxar, which is in the middle of the island with Roger and Maria Strickland. Both Roger and Maria come from old Maltese families and know the island well.
I hope the cyclists amongst you will consider Malta and of course SELMUNETT, Roger is quite capable of pointing you in the right direction.

Here you will find a very quiet stay overlooking a beautiful garden at walking distance from the center of Naxxar.
We received a very warm welcome from Roger and Maria (and the friendly dog Toby).
The rooms are spacious and you will find everything you need: besides the obvious even coffee or tea, hairdryer and a mini-bar is provided
Do not forget to listen to the good tips from Roger (for example the 2 clocks).
And a special thanks for a very delicious breakfast: that is always a good start of the day!!

This was our third visit to Selmunett in Malta over the last six years. As always it was a privilege and pleasure for us to stay with Roger and Maria.
When traveling to such a historical site, my wife and I find it beneficial to stay with well established and knowledgeable people that are willing and able to share with us their insights about this island.
Selmunett is a BnB, so the airtime with the proprietors would typically be limited. However, Roger and Maria make an effort to connect with the visitors at the breakfast table, share their knowledge about the place and are most helpful in pointing the tourists in the right direction.
I would recommend this establishment equally to the holiday makers, as well as the business travelers.
