Stayed Monday and Tuesday night 10th and 11th. Arrived with no expectations and left feeling I had just stayed with an old friend. The welcome was warm, the food was incredible, the service was professional, efficient and friendly. Simon and Christina made every effort to make us feel at home. Their attention to the small details was impressive. The fact that they were happy to share their home, the family history with you, made it special.

My wife and I staid here just one night but we will definitely come back next year. The hosts Simon and Christina are warm and engaging and the quality of the dinner absolutely amazing.
Loved our bedroom too, slept previously and woke up to a view of the old trees that surround the house. Heaven.

If you want to step back in time to a gracious Georgian manor home that has been lovingly maintained by the original family, and partake in the landscape of a working farm and it's surroundings, with minimal intrusions from the 21st century, this is a great spot. It is not haute luxe but there are enough creature comforts to make it a very enjoyable experience. Just fancy living in a country manor with a lovely sitting room and dining with fine silver and crystal, surrounded by deer, sheep and cows with a friendly dog coming round occasionally for a petting, and this is what you will find. The totally friendly staff and gracious host (Simon) will make you feel at ease. The best part is the wonderful food - top notch fish, cheese and crime brûlée or fruitcrumble for dessert that will not disappoint. The vegetables from the garden are delightful and all the service is highly professional yet gracious and welcoming. There is a good selection of half bottles of wine, which go well with the entrees. The breakfast was also very good - delicious eggs, coffee, sausage, toast and a fruit compote that cannot be beat, especially when the home made yogurt is added to it. We went from the nice sitting room with its fire, and an after dinner drink delivered by Simon, to our bedroom which had good sheets, nice toiletries and an excellent mattress for a wonderful night's sleep in complete quiet. I would say that Coopershill might be a problem for those who want a modern Relais & Chateaux type place with TVs and elevators as well as a bar scene, but for those who are ready to take a step back to a slower time, this is a great spot. Go out and walk through the fields to experience some peace and a sense of how things used to be, yet know that wifi, cocktails and an excellent meal await you !! I really hope to return soon. County Sligo offers many sights that we were not able to get to on our first visit, and Coopershill House is definitely worth a second visit for continued exploration.

Room Tip: Only 8 rooms - ours was a king overlooking the drive and was very nice

This is a magnificent house set in beautiful surroundings - We arrived about 5 in the afternoon having travelled all day we were astonished to be asked to choose our dinner the moment we walked through the door. There were only two meals on offer - My husband was allergic to one and therefore had no choice at all. Dinner is served at 8 for all of the guests and we were herded like school children into the dinning room where we were served a mediocre meal that I could have cooked at home. Fish with sauce or venison with sauce and plain boiled vegetables. Dessert was chocolate mousse. For us this coloured our stay but the room was beautiful and there was great attention to detail.

Room Tip: I would think that all of the rooms are excellent

An enjoyable, relaxing overnight stay with delicious food at dinner and breakfast. Simon, the host, was pleasant and helpful in every way. A very memorable stay on our way to Westport, Connemara and beyond.
