I’m afraid it’s dropped half a star! Everything was as good as the last time we visited (December)but our chips were limp. This suggests the cooking oil wasn’t hot enough. If you’re going to put chips in little baskets - or any other presentation for that matter - then they should be perfect, especially if served with steak or scampi (both of which were perfect btw). Excellent service and a roaring fire almost upped the score to 5 stars but it wasn’t quite enough. Never mind - we’ll still go again.

Absolutely stunning little pub hidden away in the outskirts of Carlisle. Me and my partner found this hidden gem on my birthday and it’s just made our day. The food was superb, the service was incredibly fast and it was just super cosy and cute. We will be coming back here all the time

We went for Sunday Lunch at the end of a lovely10 day stay in the area, the decor was gorgeous, ambiance excellent, food lovely, staff very good, met the Landlady in Brampton a few days before our visit and warmed to her straightaway with our shared love of rescue dogs, we are selling our flight tickets to Lanzarote and returning to Cumbria later this year, now that is a compliment!!! Anyone who visits the ares should go to Talkin Tarn Countrypark, not to be missed.

Lamb delicious (best pub meal my wife has aver had),
We plan to visit area again in summer and hopefully spend some time in the outside seating area in the sunshine.

Eat in here twice during our stay in the area, great food. Very dog friendly.
The owners are so friendly, made you feel like a local, brilliant. Good luck with the pub ladies
