This is the perfect place to unwind. The pools were amazing, the rooms spacious and comfortable and the food plentiful and varied. You don't need to leave the resort but there is beach access with loads of activities for all.

My wife and I started our honeymoon there. We stayed for three nights we should've stayed longer. The food was really good everywhere we ate but the breakfast was amazing also at the black ginger restaurant. The staff are wonderful and helped anyway they could. The resort is very big with three great pool areas and the gardens looked great. The beach is just outside the resort. It is a quieter part of Phuket and not far from the airport. We would definitely go back.

Let me start by saying this is a great hotel ,possibility the best we have stayed in , absolutely no complaints. Just a short drive from the airport . Nice welcome, superb room with our own pool, recommended, everything about our stay was just spot on. A short walk to the local bars , restaurants and beach who were also most welcoming and a tad bit cheaper than the hotel. Room service top draw. We would go back at a heartbeat . A nice place to relax. Our only complaint we didn’t stay longer . This is a place you must , we never go back but we might just ..........

We stayed at the Slate for three nights from the 2nd to 5th November

We were picked up from the airport as arranged and transferred to the hotel which was only 10 minutes away, but far enough to not be troubled by aircraft noise.

We arrived at the hotel at 08:30 AM and our room was ready. Brilliant. Can’t understand why we weren’t offered breakfast though??

The hotel design was traditional Thai architecture with a clever modern twist. We loved it.

We stayed in a 1 x bed pool villa. Our pool villa complex was privately gated and huge. It consisted of two buildings, three sunbathing / lounging decks and a lovely L shaped pool.

The first building was the bedroom & bathroom. Bed was nice and big and to the left was a Jacuzzi bath. The flooring was mahogany which was lovely. The bathroom had two toilets an indoor and an outdoor shower. The second building contained the lounge, kitchen, another toilet and a massage area with separate steam and sauna rooms. We loved the spacious indoor and outdoor areas, and they were very private. Fantastic.

We asked for our room to be made up each day ay 11:00 and turned down each evening at 20:00. This was carried out to minute perfect timing. Our only moans were that the AC was quite noisy and we arranged for a private yoga session one morning but the instructor didn’t turn up. We were offered an alternative time but they were not suitable.

The hotel gardens are beautiful and we used the adult pools in the mornings which were very nice.

We both agreed that breakfast was one of the best we had ever encountered and we stay at a lot of hotels. Loved the different flavoured homemade yoghurts, jams and smoothies

The Gym equipment was modern and plenty of free weights.

Live music was at the Rebar. We went one evening for happy hour 18:00 TO 19:00 where Cocktails were half price. I do have a moan here, the cocktails were noticeably very very weak. Not the case at the pool bar happy hour 16:00 to 17:00

We thought the pricing at the hotel was sensible, and can’t understand why others are complaining. 150 THB for a beer and 290 THB for a cocktail. Beers in the town were 80 THB each.

We ate at the Black Ginger on our 2nd night. We thought the whole experience was excellent. The beautiful design of restaurant building was lovely, great service and food. We had three courses each, a bottle of rose wine, bottle of water and one cocktail. Total price £109. To those who say the Black Ginger is expensive, get real. It is if you compare it to the street food in the town, but this is many classes above. Compared to UK prices, well worth the value.

You walk through the beautiful Hotel gardens to get to the town. Lots of Thai restaurants and good massage places. Average cost of a dinner with 4 plates of food and lots of beer. £17.00 to £20.00. A 1 x hour foot massage 300THB.

We really liked this hotel and would most definitely stay again.

Dear Andy L,

Many thanks for sharing your wonderful experience with the TripAdvisor community. We are thrilled to know you had a memorable stay.
It is great to see you took advantage of "The Rush Hour" around the resort, if you do come again please feel free to drop us a line and we will make sure your drinks are added a kick. As regards to breakfast we offer breakfast each day, the standard check-in time is 14:00 so normally breakfast is in the package the day after check-in, however I trust your personal butler would have brought some fresh fruits upon your arrival. Black Ginger certainly is at a class of its own and so glad you enjoyed the authentic Thai cuisine offered.
We sincerely hope we will have the opportunity to welcome you again.

Thank you very much.
Warmest regards,
Paul Jordaan.
