We didn’t actually stay here but we had travelled from Koh Yao Noi on our way to the airport and had quite a few hours to kill so decided to stop for some food and drinks. They were very accommodating and looked after our luggage whilst we dined. Also very friendly staff. Thanks!!!

This place is beyond amazing. The rooms are lush, the entire resort is tranquil and peaceful. Ending the holiday with this is the best decision ever. Worth every cent! Only con would be that they charge for some of the activity rent hire. From the price you pay for the rooms, you’d think archery (which is already set up) would be free. Sometimes the water takes a while to warm up in the room. But all in all, I’m in love!

We got the family suite as we brought our 5 month old. They had sleeping arrangements set up when we got there, the room was huge and the service was incredible.

Definitely eat in Black Ginger, even if the staff push the Tin Mine Restaurant. Both are great, but Black Ginger was a pretty spectacular setting.

Note: only one of the three pools allows kids, which is great if you’re not a parent. That being said the pool that does allow kids is pretty amazing.

Overall a great couple of days, and don’t be afraid to venture out of the hotel and go for evening walks and food!

Dear Gavinf03,

Thank you for taking your time to leave valuable feedback. We are delighted you have had a great time in our resort and enjoyed a spectacular dinner at Black Ginger. Indeed the resort has 3 pools and only one of which is suitable for young children however we do have a great kids club so if you do decide to visit us again and your baby is older we could help you with the little one for couple hours and the adults can enjoy the other 2 adult pools for a few happy hour drink or just some relaxation.

Thank you very much again for choosing The Slate and we hope to have you and the family back very soon.

Warm regards
Antony Dupont.

Beautiful rooms. I stayed in de-buck and pearl suites. Both absolutely stunning.
Food and service is excellent. Breakfast buffet is amazing with lots of choice.
Didn’t use spa, was very expensive. Lots of massage places outside hotel.
Couldn’t recommend this hotel enough for a quiet relaxing holiday.

The slate is a gorgeous hotel, reflecting the culture and heritage of Thailand and we felt extremely welcome as soon as we arrived. The night manager greeted us as we had arrived early and presented us with a drink and a flower, the hotel was kind enough to give us early check in as our flight landed at 6:30am. Our holiday was during low season but the weather was still great, apart from rain on some nights. The sunday brunch is amazing and was certainly a highlight of our trip room was lovely, although next time we think we would treat ourselves to a balcony room. All the restaurants are lovely and the food is extremely fresh. The only downside would be the 10% service charge on everything. This can make your bill quite expensive, and as westerners we are not necessarily used to this. Our favourite restaurant was the black ginger which is definitely worth a visit. As well as the pool bar at the adults only pool. . The spa is lovely, but unless you book the cocoon you are taken to small rooms which look similar to little houses. The massage was pleasant but it is currently next to a building site and the rooms were not explained to us (had we of known I would have paid the additional 15% charge for the cocoon)
The evening manager Echo in the tin mine is an absolute credit to the establishment and made us feel so welcome and looked after. Also Annie at breakfast was very friendly and said hello to us every morning. Antony the f&b manager is also a credit and we would like to wish him best of luck at the resort. Thank you to everyone, including chef Piak who made our stay extremely enjoyable. We will certainly recommend the slate and hope to return in the future.

Dear Tiny_Tourist101,

Thank you for sharing your experience with The Tripadvisor Community, we are delighted you enjoyed the Thai hospitality and the unique avant garde design of the resort. Your great comments regarding our extensive food and beverage offerings will be passed to Anthony The director of food and beverage so he can encourage the team to maintain the highest standard of service, also I am sure Echo, Annie and Chef Piak will be pleased with the special mentions. Your comments regarding the service charge has been noted, at The Slate we try to keep all prices transparent so we separate the 10% service charge rather then adding it in to the price but we are always adjusting to the wishes of our guests. Please feel free to get intouch with us directly reservations@theslatephuket.com.

Thank you again for deciding to spend your well earned holiday with The Slate and we look forward to your next visit.

Warm regards,
Anthony Dupont.
