A recent visit to the Bristol Doubletree, just off junction 17 of the M5, was made by the reception staff.
Whilst there’s little around the area, for a driver who works in Filton, the hotel is very well located. Served by a central lounge area that is nicely busy, the hotel is on two levels. A small but well provided gym and swimming pool, the hotel is made by their staff. I’ve been staying here for the last five years and have been looked after by some wonderful and helpful staff. Look out for the lovely Bou who will greet you with a smile and speed you on your way to one of the newly refurbished rooms.
Not the most modern of hotels but it feels like home when you’re away on business.

Very unimpressive from the outside with a good layout around the bar and restaurant.

A very unwelcoming hit with hidden car park charges of £5 minimum, which is very sharp practice to say the least!

Not all staff are fully trained, but generally OKish.

In summary functional and perhaps OK if you like surprise charges!

I've been staying at this hotel off & on for the past 3 months on business. The entire staff: front desk, restaurant, bar, room cleaning are incredibly welcoming, helpful, service oriented and go all out to make one's life easier, and go out of their ways to make one feel valued.
Breakfast is great, menu for dinner is varied and they have specials on some nights that are also very good and varied

Room Tip: lower floors are better as there are no elevators to higher floors so if you're coming in with a lot of suitcases, not great

We stayed here over the weekend in early March, greeted with a very warm welcome at reception, lovely clean and smart room, good facilities and a well organised breakfast restaurant available first thing the next day after our overnight stay, not able to give full marks as it's a bit naughty to charge for parking when it isn't mentioned at the point of booking and the security guard didn't need to stare at my wife like we were in a nightclub while we arrived back at hotel after a wedding reception over the road, not as classy as the Aztec Hotel but half the price so overall pleased with the stay.

We stayed for our anniversary, got a complimentary upgrade due to this. The breakfast buffet was great, lots of things to choose from. Had drinks in the bar the night we arrived, it was pleasant, good atmosphere, great staff.
