We visited the hotel in May 21 and given the circumstances (Covid) we enjoyed a relaxing week in Mallorca. This was mostly due to the great service by the staff who did everything to make our holiday the best. They were strict about the rules and reminded guests in a friendly way about them while doing their best to serve us: chefs, waiters, animators, cleaning staff, all went the extra mile.
Great facilities, excellent food, nicely decorated lobby and rooms.

To make one point clear in the beginning: the hotel was not the one we booked. Due to Covid 19 cutbacks all over the island our travel agent contacted us three days prior to travel and offered an alternative. The hotel we originally booked (also a Iberostar hotel in Playa de Muro) was closed - opening pending... The "Alcudia Park" was the alternative and due to the fact that we were long "overdue" in terms of vacation we did not hesitate for a second. The hotel looked alright and our children (my wife and me too) yearned for some change of scenery, sunshine, warmer temperatures and (play) time in a swimming pool. We were delighted to find the swimming pool area tidy and the lawns well maintained. The rooms were nice (very clean!) Ours could have been a bit larger in size but the hotel was booked. No problem. The food (we had "all in") was very good and varied over the days. The buffet (breakfast, lunch and dinner) did not leave much to be desired. Besides the fact that the hotel was very clean, and the food was very good, the most outstanding quality was the service! The personnel was kind, helpful, not intrusive or pushy but sympathetic to our needs. Filling up the jug with milk for our little one in the evening so we would have it ready at 5 or 6 in the morning? No problem! Whether the reception desk (need diapers in town - where to go!?), the maids, waiters, staff at the SPA (GREAT massage! btw.) or even the chefs (cooks) - everyone was professional, extremely friendly (without appearing superficial) and always very very helpful! We did not expect this level of quality (and mean no offence). We can recommend this hotel very highly to families with children. Singles or families without children should perhaps opt for a different hotel. For what it's worth: one last word about environmental issues: This is a 95 % plastic free hotel and the management enforces this policy. Being water sports enthusiasts we embrace this policy.

Room tip: Try to get a room close to the ocean side (away from the main street).

Dear Max,

Thank you so much for this marvellous review. It is always great for us to know that our guests have enjoyed their stay. We are grateful to you for mentioning an aspect that is so important to us at Iberostar. Wave of Change, our initiative to remove all single-use plastic from our hotel rooms and help the environment in many ways. We are glad that you were satisfied with our efforts. Of course, we will forward your kind praise to our teams who will be delighted. Please come back and see us again, in the not too distant future.

In a nutshell, very disappointing:
- Toddler and kid first hotel. Don't stay there if you want some quiet and rest.
- Barely a 3-star hotel. Read the rest of the review.
- Staff doesn't take the sanitary context seriously.
- Poor food quality. Need a detox after staying there for a week.
- Infrastructure can't support the number of guests.
- Leaving with the depressing feeling that management think they don't need to make any effort as they have enough guests.

Room: 1/5

Thank god we booked a suite. Rooms are not sound proof and light shone beneath the door. The suite allowed to lower, to some extent, the light and noise nuisance

Room lacked any basic amenities: no coffee machine, no minibar, no herbal tea, no water heater, no wrapped toiletries. If you think of something, rest assured you won't find it there.

A double bed with two single mattresses. Go figure... Those mattresses have obviously seen too many guests and lack any comfort. Pillows are not any less uncomfortable. Leaving the hotel with back pain.

Food & Drinks: 1/5

Day in, day out, the same pineapple, the same grapes, pasta and pizza. Very few variety. A couple of dishes were not too bad but overall poor quality.

No snack during the day — but pineapple and nasty ham sandwiches.

Subpar wine and rhum because, you know, "you're all inclusive". No other cocktails other than pre-mixed drinks — fruit juice really. Let's note it is not a matter of paying extra as they won't make you even a simple margarita.

Hygien: 0/5

Saw a "chef" pick a fry from the counter and put it back where it belonged: with the others! Yum...

Keep in mind, this was a buffet style restaurant. In these covid days and ages, I would expect a waiter to serve you instead of letting the guests handle the utensils. Hand sanitizing wasn't even enforced! Never washed my hands so often...

Social distancing was also not respected (see other sections). Most people wore their masks, some obviously very reluctantly, but staff would not say anything if they wore a chin diaper.

Interestingly enough, most other hotels were closed...

Crowd: 0/5

Maybe the time of the year but the toodler per adult ratio was close to 1.2. Don't expect any quiet time!

Under normal circumstances, I expect people to keep their distance and not rub themself against me. With this sanitary context, I would expect people to apply stricter distancing. My expectations are apparently too high.

Infrastructure: 0/5

Didn't use the pool but it looked awfully small for the number of guests.

I kept the best for the end. When we checked in, we were told we had to pick a time for the cafeteria. We were told that was because of the covid context. We soon realized the real reason: the infrastructure can't support the number of guests.

Only one restaurant where all guests can't eat simultaneously. So they have to space out by assigning a time. Even so, there are awful long lines at the stations (forget about social distancing — especially when the layout makes no sense).

The restaurant is supposed to close at 10 but at 8:55, they start kicking you out.

You can't go to the restaurant when you're hungry because, you know, "you picked 8pm and it is now 7:35". Because the staff is so kind, they finally let you in but you have to leave at 8:35! We came back at 8...

Gonna stop here, but you get the idea.

Dear Gilles,

Thank you for your input and constructive observations concerning our hotel Iberostar Alcudia Park, located on one of the best beaches in Mallorca, the perfect hotel for families and couples. Please, allow us to explain that we have implemented more than 300 safety measures following the guidelines of our Medical Advisory Board to adjust our services to this new normality and to guarantee, the well-being of all, customers and employees alike, furthermore in our buffet area we have gel dispensers at each of the stations and all utensils are sterilised every 15 minutes as stipulated by the local health authorities also we keep control of capacity in all areas of our hotel to avoid overcrowding, thus a shift system in the dining area. We sincerely regret that you did not receive this impression.

Regarding our gastronomy, we are surprised and disappointed that we did not satisfy you, our hotel and company are well known around the world for our exquisite buffets offering local and international cuisine, using only the freshest ingredients and offering quality and variety daily, of course, certain dishes, pizzas, salads etc are repeated, however, there are different selections and menu rotations constantly.

We are really sad that we did not receive a report concerning the areas of dissatisfaction that you mention, during your time in our hospitality as you can rest assured that our kind and professional team always do their utmost to correct any discrepancies or solve any problems. We regret any inconvenience caused and do hope that Iberostar will remain in your future holiday plans and that we will have the opportunity to please you completely on your next visit. Once again thank you for your time.

Spent here 2 weeks in August and will try to summarize our experience. Traveling during pandemic was interesting, from an empty terminal 5 at Heathrow, continuing with a flight of only 26 people on board on a 180 seats plane, to an empty Palma airport . All went smoothly including transfers. Check in created some confusion but with the help of the front desk clerks was done in less than 10 minutes.
Room was fine, large enough for a family of 4, nicely appointed, low amenities for a 4 star hotel (no tissues, an empty fridge considering you pay for AI, no ironing board, no toiletries (you get a shower gel by the liter in the shower cabin) , no coffee/tea facilities, no shoe cleaning facilities, NADA). I requested some of these via their app, however it did not work, never received anything. Air conditioning not very effective. Positive aspects, free wi fi, tv sets in both rooms, decent rooms with good size.
In regards to covid measures, they provided hand gel everywhere and they said that they were running at only 70% of capacity, however, to me it seemed like a full hotel. Masks were mandatory everywhere. As an additional measure, they made us choose some defined hours for the 3 meals of the day, in theory this would have been a great idea but nobody was sticking to their given timetables and there was nobody to make sure people would respect this (staff should have not allowed people outside their assigned time for meals). Therefore, the only open restaurant was extremely busy with long queues for food.
Food was varied, some times quality items, however, most of the meals were undercooked due to the busy times and long queues. Good selection of drinks at the bar. A la carte was never available. This was our first all inclusive experience and I must say our last one.
Annoying parts: mosquitos and lack of AC in the common areas like restaurant and bar and the empty fridge in the room (you get 1 bottle of still water per day per family)!
A big thank you to the staff, really effective and hard working, congrats!

Dear guest,

First and foremost thank you for choosing our popular four-star hotel on one of the most beautiful beaches in Mallorca for your summer holiday.

As part of the "Wave of Change" project, our company is eliminating 200 tonnes of plastic a year from its hotels and replacing disposable plastics with other materials for sustainable development and environmental protection, therefore you will have noticed differences in our amenities, we are sorry if this made your holiday seem less than perfect. Furthermore, we would like to reassure you that at Iberostar we follow all local government guidelines and have kept to the 70% limited capacity at all times whilst implementing more than 300 measures in all of our departments following the advice of our Medical Advisory Board to keep everyone safe and we are proud to say it has been a success.

We regret that there were certain areas of our all-inclusive package that did not satisfy you personally and we would like to suggest that on a future visit you contact our call centre where they will be delighted to assist you in reserving a hotel that suits your needs perfectly.

On the other hand, our professional chefs do their utmost daily to satisfy all of our guests offering high quality produce and great variety at our excellent buffet, that includes themed dinners and show cooking, we apologise if it was not to your taste all of the time and will pass your comments on to the correct department.

We hope that the comfortable recently renovated room that we accommodated you in and excellent service received will mean that you keep Iberostar in your future holiday plans.

Kind regards,

We have been going to Iberostar for the past 4 years. We have tried different locations in Alcudia and one in Andalusia. This year we planned to go to Iberostar in Cancun, Mexico but for obvious reason the trip got redirected to Mallorca. We are hoping it is going to happen next year, thogh:-) I think that it is safe to say that we will be going to a Iberostar as long as our daughter will want to vacation with us. We always choose the respective Iberostar hotel based on the kids pool that best reflects our daughters age. Alcudia Park has the best kids pool we have seen so far. There are 4 different level slides but also a shallow 90 cm pool, which is great for learners. The big pool is only 1,5 m deep. All Iberostar hotels have friendly staff, amazing entertainers ( I do not know where they get the energy) and a great mix of international guests. Our daughter made Spanish, French, American, Albanian... friends. It is truly a fantastic experience to watch your child enjoy it so much. A few tips: we found it best to go to the beach in the morning, it is much calmer (and there are shells of course), you can literally feed the fish with bread(they will swim up to you an munch it all up). Pack a bug spray, I guess especially later in the summer the mosquitoes are quite determined. In Alcudia park the rooms are renovated and clean, airconditioning works really well. Food is good, it would be unfair to further analyse all inclusive buffet that generally has its limits. There is plenty of choice, we did not feel like we needed to venture out to a restaurant and most importantly our daughter enjoyed the pasta, pizza, pancakes and ice cream (as did most of the other kids).
