Misty Isle Boat Trips

We sailed on the 11:00 am boat trip, having reserverd our spaces via email the previous day. The boat ride lasts 45 mins there, 1.5 hours on the Loch, 45 mins back. We saw seals and seabirds.
The best view of the Loch involves crossing uneven, rocky stones and requires good mobilty. The ground in general is uneven, so make sure you're wearing appropriate footwear.
Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. This boat trip was a highlight of our week long stay on the Isle of Skye!

We decided to take this trip spontaneously on arrival to Skye. The road from Broadford to Elgol was rather hairy at times but worth it for the beautiful scenery that awaits you. The boat trip was well organised and James was a great host and guide. Very knowledgable about the local, area and history and very humorous execution of his tales. It was a 3 hour trip and I would recommend proper walking boots. Once back on the boat we were offered a very welcome hot drink and biscuit from Fiona. Well worth taking this trip. Keep up the good work

You will find a friendly crew and access to iconic scenery if you travel with Misty Isle Boat Trips. Stunning wildlife and world-class scenery are served on a daily basis. Loch Coruisk is so atmospheric that Turner had to paint it. You will not be disappointed even if you are a world traveller.

We had a fabulous boat trip. James took us out and was entertaining us with his considerable knowledge of the islands and landscape when he suddenly spotted some movement in the distance. He said he thought it might be whales. We couldn't see anything, so he must have pretty bionic eyesight, but as we got closer, we could see a flock of birds, low on the water. Some were feeding on the surface, others fluttering around the feeders in a near perfect circle. It was an amazing sight, Very eerie. James explained that if the birds were feeding close to the surface, then something was driving the fish up and after a while we were rewarded by seeing two Minke Whales. We watched them for about 20 minutes in total. It is indescribable to see these creatures close up. If that wasn't incredible enough, we were then dropped off on a part of skye only accessible by sea and had that area completely to ourselves for an hour, as we explored the loch. It is hard to find the words to describe how breathtaking the scenery is, not to mention the bonus of seeing the Whales and seals. All the staff at Misty Isle boats were incredibly laid back, knowledgeable and that trip had to be the highlight of a fabulous holiday. (I'd also recommend the cheese scones up in the tiny cafe in the community hall up the road).

I attended a wedding on Loch Coruisk and the couple used Misty Isle Boat Trips to transport the wedding party. Misty Isle was kind, helpful, fun, and did a great job. They pointed out seals, birds, and deer to us and shared about the area. We had a wonderful time. Highly recommend.
