Had to be in the area for two days so I booked at the Serene Sands (discounted rate) for Sunday night. I checked in very early with no charge or problem. The property is right on the beach and very well maintained. I booked a superior room and found it to very small. Just a hint, do not book for Sunday night. It seems to take up the slack in slow times local people are allowed to use the facilities and a very large number of kids took up the pool after 3 PM until dark (so much for quiet.) The place is small and so is the staff. The restaurant is very small and service on Sunday was very slow, again maybe because it was Sunday. Some disappointments: the gym has minimal equipment, breakfast was very basic, no coffee or tea (or cup) in the room as advertised. I do highly recommend this property for couples that want to get away to a nice place and be left alone. They even have two Love Shacks on the beach. Good value for the area.

Stayed at the Serene Sands Resort primarily to work, we needed somewhere quiet and out of town, it was perfect in that respect and the quality of the wifi not just in the around but around the resort was amazing.

For the play part, it's not too far into town if you want to have a night out, there's also a bunch of good restaurants nearby.

The best thing about this hotel though is the staff, without doubt this is the most hospitable hotel that I have stayed in for years, they really make you feel at home and nothing is too much trouble, I stayed for ten days but would happily stay for months on end.

Thanks Sarin and Kay for your hospitality, also many thanks to Kan and Pui for taking care of our everyday needs, we really appreciated it and hope it won't be too long before we are back.

Last but by no means least, if you are feeling stressed and need help with that or maybe anyone of the many mental and physical problems that we have to face everyday ask to see Jim, he is based in the hotel and specializes in the healing arts and Tai Chi, Jim is great guy, time spent Jim is a rewarding experience.

Had booked 2 Superior room and 1 Deluxe room - the superior room can accomodate 3 people very easily and is very spacious, but the deluxe room we got was really small.

The property is a really comfortable with limited number of rooms so you have your privacy in the pool and the beach is right infront(technically a limited beach but better than Pattaya where you have to cross the road to rwach the beach).

As previous reviewers have already written, the WiFi is amazing across the property.

Would love to visit again.

My husband and I stayed with our 3 year old son.
The rooms are enormous so plenty of space for the extra bed. The rooms have DVD player and you can borrow DVDs from the front desk. The WiFi is free and available everywhere which is AMAZINGLY RARE in Thailand. The speed was great, we were able to stream a movie on our iPad no problem. There are also plenty of books in various languages you can borrow.
Breakfast is basic but tasty, evening food is fine, and there is plenty of street food style places nearby.
The pool and jacuzzis are great, and although the snooker table has seen better days its fun for kids to hang out and play.
The beach is nothing special, but its nice to have the view of the sea.
The staff were lovely and very friendly.
There's plenty of info about local attractions and they run a free shuttle to pattaya as well as arranging very reasonable taxis.
I would totally recommend this place either for a romantic break or for young families who don't want the seedy sex tourist atmosphere of Pattaya.
