Reviewed 15 July 2015 via mobile

We were a group of 6 motorcyclists heading from the ferry at Santander through the Picos mountains. Arriving in the evening we had to find a hotel in relatively close proximity to the port, with twin rooms and secure motorcycle parking. I found this hotel and what a find it was.

In a quite and serene location this friendly hotel is family owned, decorated to a very high standard and is without doubt worthy of the high score which I have given. There is a local bar, restaurant just a 10 minute walk away. Be warned it is at the top of a very steep track and would not be suitable for the elderly or vey young to walk.

Would I go again? Yes!!

Delightful, tranquil 300+ year old character building in an elevated south-facing location away from the hubbub of daily life. Ready access to terraces with far-reaching, sunny views. Friendly hostess. No dinners, but Potes only a 10 minute drive. Extremely good value

Located just 10 minutes from the very charming village of Potes, this Posada is a quaint and quiet spot to base for all the beautiful scenery for the Picos de Europa.

It is an old farmhouse which is been updated with loving care and detail, preserving the charm of it original history. The room and bathroom were quite roomy, clean and comfortable. The room had a balcony that overlooked the countryside with grazing horses. Quite the value, including breakfast.

This area was one of the highlights of our trip to northern Spain...wish we could have stayed longer.

Las Espedillas is located in a beautiful spot above the village of Lon below some of the peaks of the Picos mountains. The place is run by Angela and her son Antonio who are friendly and helpful, Angela always ready for a chat. The breakfast is more than adequate with pancakes and Antonio's honey which one should buy to take home. And the place is spotlessly clean, comfortable and quiet.
There is a bar restaurant within walking distance in the village below so need to drive.
All in all a great centre to explore this region of the Picos and we would certainly go back.

the posada in a village called Lon at end the very end of a small road, not far from Potes. It is an old farm house converted into a guesthouse. Very stylish and small, but does not have all the mod cons that a business traveller accommodation would have. B&B, but there is restaurant a few meters down the road. We met mother and son there, running the place. The son gave excellent advice what to do in the area. good walks starting behing the house, and the cable car is 20 mins away to go up the Picos. Understanding a few words of Spanish will be helpful. The place is a dream to calm down and forget the rest of the world.
