We chose the Irseer Klosterbraeu hotel for one night on our way to the dolomites in February 2015 and we glad for our selection. We arrived in the evening, there was fresh snow that fell the days before, and the hotel was located so beautifully in winterwonderland. The staff welcomed us warmely and showed us the room which was nicely made up to look like an ancient castle room. the room featured a double bed, flat screen tv and shower / restroom and was clean and tidy.
Something we also liked is the restaurant in the ground floor: the feature a brewery restaurant where they serve their home made beer from the monastery: awesome flavoured and fresh! Food was excellent, too. Breakfast in the morning featured a wide variety of bread, rools and things and was delicious, too.

My wife and I stayed here for three nights and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The rooms were large, beautiful, and comfortable. Breakfast was also great!
Next time we come to visit, we will definitely be staying in this hotel!

If you are looking to experience Bavarian hospitality, look no further than this hotel. This gasthaus is a converted brewery decorated in a cosy, traditional style with staff dressed in traditional Bavarian costume.
There are three types of room. We stayed in one of the "Pater" rooms which was up in the attic part of the building on the third floor. The rooms and corridors had old beams which gave the place a cosy feel. Our room was clean and comfortable but as we faced out towards a busy road, it was a bit noisy from early morning. If this would bother you, ask for a room facing away from the road.
Breakfast was very good as was dinner in the restaurant. The beer brewed on the premises was excellent. The hotel and restaurant were very busy so it would definitely be advisable to book in advance if staying in high season. As this is very much a rural location, a car would be needed to access the hotel. We stayed in this hotel for three nights and used it as a base to explore this section of the German Romantic Road. A good hotel and good value for money. I would stay there again.

I stayed there already several times for business and it's perfect for that purpose, if you want to spend a relaxed evening and quiet night to refresh before a new business day. The rooms are spacious, alpine style. The restaurant serves tasty bavarian food, the local beer from the monestary brewery is just amazing. The small sauna is perfect for relaxing after the day. Just the Wifi is not very good. It works, but not really good (but at least it's for free). The staff is not as unfriendly as others mentioned in reviews. Take beer back home!
