So much to see and do... stroll through the many pavilions, each with a different purpose. Library,/bookstore, children’s area, art gallery, wedding chapel, and more.
We happened to arrive at the jade Buddha for the guided meditation with a monk. Very moving and spiritual.
Food, shopping, education - an interesting mix of ancient philosophy and religion in a lovely setting.

As soon as you enter this place you'd feel Peace and relax. To understand and adapt what they believed in at that moment will bring you Peace inside

A must see location regardless your religion. A well-thought out design. Once there, you will see the sheer magnitude of the temple.

Well someone really thinks they know how to build a Buddhist complex - I think. Everything here is new and sparkling and confusing. Lots of English signage here to learn about it all though. And evidently size matters as they have the biggest copper Buddha in the world or so they claim. Something is missing though. I think it has to do with it all being derived from some kind of modern plan (as opposed to developed over time) and just how apparent that is. I tell you what: in no way did this place touch me in the way Shwedagon in Myanmar did. I left there feeling there was something larger in life than myself. I left here wanting a burger. I also left with the thought that this place looks like it belongs in mainland China as opposed to the more sophisticated Taiwan.

There are many things to do here such as tea meditation, which is my best choice as it is truly relaxing and Alishan tea is aromatic and gives out a great sense of a beautiful mountain with crisp weather. Make sure you visit Buddha made from white gem from Myanmar and Buddha tooth relic, which is one of six tooth relics only in the world. There are a wide variety of kid activities and children are going to love this place. The activities are all about how to be a good person, say good things, do good things and think like a good person. I am an atheist but being in here takes me so close to Buddhaa and I appreciate every moment there.
