Of all of the temples I’ve visited both here in Taiwan as well as around the world, this one ranks at the top of my list. Why? Because not only does the visitor get to immerse themselves in the teachings/religion of Confucianism, but we also get a fairly extensive education - a mix between museum and temple. This becomes apparent as I walked around the temple complex as people around me were praying, making offerings, etc. Signage in Chinese and English is excellent. Maps are provided to assist with following a logical walking tour. Displays are interesting and several are interactive. There is a 4-D movie (15 minutes long) that is both educational and entertaining (last showing is at 4pm). Combine this temple visit with the Baoan Temple across the street.

Unfortunately, when I saw this temple it was under renovations so it was not the best one that I visited. I think it will be a lot better once this is completed. No where near trains so a taxi is the easiest way to get here.

Taipei is a real delight if the weather plays along for a photographer, amateur or professional. The buildings are spectacular and the people are friendly. Most locals speak some English which made life easier for us as we speak no Chinese at all. Not the prettiest of the temples from the outside but still worth a visit if you're into the temples. We loved it.

If you've never been to a Chinese temple, this is a good place to see what they are all about. If you've traveled in China or other places with major Chinese temples, then there is nothing here you haven't seen before. But very clean and pleasant with minimal crowds.

This is a beautiful temple! It has some information signs in English. There is also a brochure about the temple in English. Quite close to the metro. Don’t miss the gorgeous temple just across the road from this.
