we go bike riding at tai tung. the room was large enough to store two bicycle. it was located at the town. it take about 15 mins to the the train station.
the wifi was very weak, and the hot water not suitable. the dinner room was quit old.
This hotel is affordable in this time of holiday season! You will get to enjoy having taitung night market and bus station which brings you to other towns easily, just 5 mins away! Breakfast is provided.
We booked this hotel very last minute because we missed our ferry and was thankful for it.
The location is great – it’s near to the Taitung night market for food, a pharmacy, Carrefour for groceries.
Hotel is basic, a little run-down (the air-con is weak, and makes quite a bit of sound) and old but people are nice. There’s also simple local supper (8-10pm) and breakfast (7.30-9.30am) if you need to fuel up. No WiFi as we recall.
I’d recommend this place for quick and last minute stay.
After Checkout, they let us leave our van in their parking lot while we went to Green Island. The also drove us to the port after booking our boat tickets for us. They went beyond what was expected and that is great!
This is known as the 'Melody Hotel' in English. To be honest we weren't impressed. Nothing super wrong with the place but its old and run down. The reception area is also their bar, which they kindly gave us vouchers for on arrival, but wasn't a particularly welcoming area. Our room was big and clean with a good, powerful shower. It took us a while to be able to shut our windows as they were old and the runners weren't very good. It did have a nice view over the mountains, but the road below must be quite a popular route as we could hear the traffic most of our stay. The ac was ok but the wifi was useless. We had to go to the reception/ bar area to get any connection. Breakfast was mediocre- there was cereal/ toast/ eggs for those with western tastes but only tea and coffee to drink, no water or juice. The selection was poor and the room wasn't nice- we ate at a table with dirty plates sitting on it as they weren't being cleared away. The staff were friendly but had limited English. The nicest staff member was the receptionist on night duty who helped us check trains whilst we waited for a taxi. 7/11 was close by. We had to book a 2nd night due to cancelled flights- they charged us a lot more because it was 'a holiday' apparently... We wouldn't stay again
