I can't speak for everyone else but I personally really enjoyed this hotel. When you travel out of country, in my case, from the U,S., it's easy to expect a lot of amenities because that's what you're used to. But, just keep in mind that a lot of places in Asia and in Europe have smaller rooms and don't have the A/C on non-stop. But the important things, (having hot water, wi-fi, working tv, and being CLEAN) was all met. The breakfast here was pretty terrible and we skipped it on most days. When you're in taipei, just go outside a few steps and you'll be surrounded by cheap street food which is way better than what you will find in the hotel. The surrounding area is pretty typical and even though it is really loud outside, I never heard any of the noise in our bedroom. Also, it's really close to the subway (maybe a 5 min. walk)!
Random note: There is a really fat dog laying on a cardboard box outside that lays next to his owner who sells peanuts or some kind of snack that is just so damn cute.More
