Owner description: At 509 meters high, this was the world's tallest building from 2004 to 2010, when the Burj Khalifa in Dubai surpassed it. The tower is reminiscent of a pagoda or a stalk of bamboo and designed to withstand typhoons and earthquakes common in Taiwan. Floors one through five are a shopping center and both the indoor (89th floor) and outdoor (91st floor) observation decks offer a 360-degree panoramic view.

Such a commanding structure in the center of Taipei, it begs you to visit. We went on a weekday and fortunately it was fairly clear. Short wait to get in the lift to the observation deck. We went to Din Tai Fung for dumplings afterwards (must do). They are quick and efficient at getting you up and looking. Taipei is a beautiful city and we got some great views and a bit of history. People were very helpful and spoke nearly flawless English. I'm not sure about the evening views, but I can imagine they are also pretty special. Worth the time and money.

I went there by my own. There were many tourist queuing for the lift to the top. When I came down, there was queuing too. I had a afternoon snack in the cafe in the top floor where food service is available. It was nice view from the windows.

Great for shopping, indoor observation deck is okay. Outdook observation was disappointing. Closed off to one tiny section only so you’re limited to just one view.

Great attraction! We just went right at 10 when it opened to buy tickets. It was easy. There is a bit of a wait to get up since there are two elevators but they are fast elevators at 35 seconds to get to the top. The view is great and there is also an outdoor viewing spot which is difficult to see much. This is a must do in Taipei.

101 floors not counting the underground one. Nice high end shopping center in the first 4 floors. Get the super fast elevator to the top deck and in a clear day you can see far away.
