This hotel was so nice I stayed an extra night instead of moving on from Kaohsiung on my vacation. It's got old-school quality in a neighborhood setting but just a 5 minute walk from the Aozihdi (凹子底) subway station. Unfortunately the first thing you notice is a short stairway down from the street to hoist your luggage, but then the entrance is sweet with a small patio outside and a nice moderately-sized lobby inside. Free wifi is adequate but not speedy. Free breakfast was good. Bonus: the hotel has a couple of bicycles available free. I liked the neighborhood with a large market nearby and night market not too far. Rooms are spacious and nicely equipped with an old-fashioned feel of quality varnished wood everywhere, but the bed is a bit smaller than average. Flat screen TV had a spectacular assortment of cable channels. In-room fridge. Don't look for luxury hotel extras like a pool, meeting rooms, room service, or a fitness center, but you won't pay the high price for those things you might not use, either.
