We have just spent the last two weeks in our touring caravan at Fierbois. It has loads for kids to do - great swimming pool complex, 2 free tennis courts, several table tennis tables, go-karts, skate park, kids clubs, ponies, fishing, cycling trails, etc. It also has a well stocked reasonably priced shop, wi-fi all over the site, bar, restaurant and take away. Our pitch was large, well secluded and level. The site seems to attract nice families, mostly British, Dutch and French, and we enjoyed our stay.
However, the site is let down by poor maintenance, poor cleanliness, and not enough staff. The main toilet block does not have hand basins by the toilets. The washing-up area has soap dispensers, but these were usually empty. The showers were not clean and were cold for several days before eventually a plumber appeared and restored the hot water. This is a large site, with no wheely-bins - all rubbish has to be taken to the main entrance, which is a long walk, so most pitches have bin bags on them. The lake surface was covered with a film of green algae. The restaurant and bar are under-staffed, both with long waiting times. A half-litre of beer (less than a pint) was 6 euros!
This site is a long way from the major towns and attractions of the Loire Valley, and I would recommend staying elsewhere, a little further north.More
