We spent almost two weeks at the Boathouse. The location is just perfect with the water coming right below the windows at high tide. Within hours of arriving we had spotted porpoises and seals from the kitchen window and also saw otters on several occasions.
The Boathouse is simply decorated, with everything you need and good, comfortable beds (we slept well every night - not always the case with other holiday properties). Having Stephanie a few steps away in the main house was great for any queries and she always had time to stop for a chat, while Mulroe in general was the perfect balance of privacy and quiet, while being close enough to Durrus and Bantry to do any shopping or have a meal out.
The only downsides were the intermittent wifi (though this should now be sorted and arguably spending time staring at a screen, when the view outside is so good, is to miss the point of being there) and the lack of footpaths locally, though a 10 minute drive to the Sheepshead Peninsula gives you access to some wonderful walks.
If you want somewhere to get away from the world, do some wildlife watching, fishing, kayaking or swim in the sea every day, then this is definitely the place!
