The Shirotori Garden is a lovely garden/oasis in the city. Walking around inside it's sometimes hard to believe it is in the city. There's a koi pond in the middle and a number of meandering paths that go around it. In the middle of the park is a tea house and near the back (south) is a nice waterfall.

Getting there is a bit difficult. The closest subway stops are Hibino on the Meiko Line, and Jingunishi on the Meijo Line - the park being about 15 ~ 20 minutes walk from either one. The bus stops closer to the park: from Kanayama station take the bus headed for "Noseki Eki・Minato Kuyakusho" and get off at "Shirotoribashishita" and walk 3 minutes. Or, from Jinguhigashimon take the bus for "Gonno・Nakagawa Shakomae" and get off at "Shirotoribashishita" and walk for 3 minutes.

The park has bathrooms, but no food for purchase. Most of the paths are gravel and some are twisty/turny and narrow making wheelchair access difficult (but not impossible.) The fee is ¥300 for adults (free for junior high school students and younger), and ¥100 for seniors over 65 (with identification.)

If you enjoy long walks, Kanayama is not that far away, and Atsuta Shrine is also quite close.
