Apgar Village Lodge
Reviewed 4 weeks ago

Stayed in single cabin... Bigger and Better than Rising Sun. Good Bed, small bathroom, everything worked... had a small kitchen... well supplied with cooking essentials. Close to everything in Apgar. Would happily stay there again.

Room Tip: go with a cabin if you can get one.

a nice place at the end of the season, very few people, quiet and the weather is good.
most of the park activities are still going on, ranger talks, red buses, restaurants, boating and hiking.
only a small problem are times with smoke from late forest fires.

Beautiful but restricted by wildfires & cold, rainy weather in Sept., so Road to the Sun was closed, planned hiking trails closed, & eateries & some services closed early. Views clouded by smoke & rain.

Facilities are "rustic" If you are expecting luxury accommodations, go elsewhere. But for the price, the rooms are acceptable. We did not have a particularly enjoyable visit due to the nearby forest fires. One of our party got sick from the smoke and we checked out early. Staff was very nice and sympathetic to our discomfort.

The setting is beautiful. The restoring of my dad's old cabin was exceptional and while different in many ways brought back memories of my childhood. The staff was family friendly and helpful. Well done. Well done.
