We stayed in a 3 bedroom for a month in Tower I. This was our third visit to portofino. I thought it to be a first class resort originally but it did not measure up this time. The furniture in the living room was worn and needed to be replaced. A couple of springs were broken and it was difficult to get up one you sat down.

The TV's were the cheapest available. I could not watch our TV in the master bedroom it was so small. For the type of resort this is you would expect some decent flat screen TV's at least 27" but these were the small tube type you can buy at walmart for under a hundred dollars.

The fire alarm went off twice in the building with ominous announcements. Our mother 92 years of age was near panic when it went off. We were on floor 16 and were instructed to leave the building but warned not use the elevator. I noticed a small boy in the parking lot shouting upward to his dad on the 20th floor nearly in tears during the second episode.

There were many pluses though. The amenities, the pools, a nice restaurant with excellent pizza, the boat, the fitness center. For the most part the people that we came in contact with were polite. Unfortunately they could not help with our complaint about the furniture and the false alarms. They were able to furnish us with a wheelchair for our mother after we had to unexpectedly take her to the local hospital emergency room. In any event, there could not be a better location. We had a good view of the gulf and the bay side as well. It was grand view.

We had the best weekend at Portofino Island Resort! Everyone was very friendly, the pool deck area was awesome and the indoor pool looked very inviting. We really appreciated the boat that took us over to the Pensacola Boardwalk. We never had to drive anywhere. Our condo was very impressive with high end appliances, bedding and TV's. We would love to go back in the future.

We booked with an owner through VRBO; an important difference is that this owner used a local rental management company (rmi) so that we would have a local point of contact. RMI was extremely friendly and accommodating, and we didn't need them the whole time. Views over the Bay were fantastic...sunsets were beautiful. Our condo was furnished better than any rental condo I had stayed at. Beds were memory foam, so comfortable I want them at home. Resort is beautiful, beach is beautiful, accomodations were fantastic. We plan on returning, hopefully to the same condo.

Visited with my family - great grandmother and grand children. Leased two units one through resort and one through realty agent. When we were inadvertently locked out of one of the rooms, front desk offered no assistance b/c that unit had been leased through a realty agent. Quoted "policy" and left us standing dripping wet with nothing but a towel in the hallway for an hour. Finally rescued by secuirty agent.

Units are well furnished, great views and children's activities but need lessons in hospitality.

my family and sister in law's family with 4 small children had a great time. beautiful beach is yards away, great pools, and in a few year, the kids will be old enough for water slides in adventure cove. Since it is a few miles from pensacola boardwalk (which is pretty small and non-luxurious anyway), I would have loved a small wading pool or water play areas and playground for the toddlers. We will be back in a few years. but may go to destin next year for the kiddie pools and distractions of a larger city experience. If you want gorgeous relaxation, this is the only thing of its kind in pensacola.
