“fantastic - lovely holiday home with all the amenities we needed and not too posh!!”
Reviewed 7 September 2015 for a stay in August 2015

We had a fabulous 3 nights at Glovers Wynd - the home was well kept, superb accommodation and very roomy. The house has a fabulous patio which is a sun trap and only a few yards from the earslferry beach. The house was superbly equipped and had all mod cons anyone would need. A lovely touch was Susi left wine and chocolates for us which went down very well. The kitchen very well equipped and the lounge/dining room was large. The bedrooms were larger than i would have expected and the beds were cosy and comfy. We took most of our provisions and meals with us, so we did not actually use the car the whole time we were there and walked everywher. Fabulous walking all around and oodles of different walks.
The only downside was we did not stay for long enough and if Susi will have us again, we will look forward to a longer stay

“Friendly and comfortable Holiday House.”
Reviewed 9 June 2015 for a stay in May 2015

Owner of the house was pleasant and helpful to deal with.

We liked the comfort and ambience of the house

Lovely sandy beach just 50 metres down quiet cul de sac road.

WE liked the location and comfort best.
We would have preferred a bigger TV.

“Perfect for our Scottish break”
Reviewed 30 May 2015 for a stay in May 2015

We were a mum, dad, 12 year old daughter and her best friend....and dog. Having decided at short notice to visit our Scottish relatives, we searched for somewhere to stay which accepted dogs; we have a Lab/Collie X. Being the bank holiday weekend, we were not exactly spoilt for choice, as most of the homes were already booked. However, that proved to be a blessing as we found this cottage, and couldn't have been happier. As per a previous guest comment, yes, it could do with a little modernising, but that didn't bother us in the slightest. Everything provided worked well, the beds were comfy, and the location was superb - 30 seconds walk to the beautiful, sandy beach in one direction, and the same time to the golf course in the other. Looking at the sea from the living room window was almost mesmerising. We took many walks on the beach, and the girls ventured off to play on the sand every morning. Our host, Susie, provided all the information necessary, and the newly installed WiFi was a bonus we weren't expecting. The extra gifts left out as a welcome to the cottage were greatly appreciated! We wouldn't consider booking anywhere else for future visits as this cottage made it for us. Thank you. We will be back.

“A nice house in a nice location”
Reviewed 24 May 2015 for a stay in May 2015

8 Glovers Wynd is a well equipped and well maintained house just 100 yards from the beach. The Ship Inn was closed for refurbishment, but is due to re-open very soon. So for eating out we would recommend the 19th Hole (which is within walking distance of Glovers Wynd) and the Crusoe Hotel in nearby Lower Largo. The Pavillion is also nice for breakfasts, lunches and main meals.
There was no WiFi or Internet, but we knew that when we booked the holiday. It turned out that we did miss the Internet a little bit, mainly for checking nearby places and generally just looking up anwers to things that cropped up in conversation. However as of 24th May 2015 the house has access to the Internet.

“Beautiful village, excellent accommodation.”
Reviewed 30 October 2014 for a stay in August 2014

We booked 8 Glovers Wynd the day before we travelled and could have expected the owner to be a little bit grumpy but Susie was the perfect host & could not do enough for us. Her directions were perfect & the wine & chocolates were a lovely touch. The cottage itself was spacious & had everything you needed in terms of appliances, cutlery, etc. There were plenty of games, books & jigsaws to keep our daughter happy. No Wi-Fi but we found that quite refreshing & were not tempted to check work emails! The cottage is at the top of a lane, only a hundred yards or so from the beach. Some might say that the cottage needs a little updating but we loved it!
There are some good shops in Elie & an excellent deli. Also some good pubs as well, although we only sampled 2 of them, The Ship & Braids Bar. Both very welcoming and a good atmosphere. We would also recommend The Bank in "Ainster" for food & a decent pint. Do go to Pittenweem and the Cocoa Tree Cafe on the High Street, you wont regret it but your waistline might! St Andrews is only a short drive away & is a gorgeous city. All in all, a beautiful part of the world and a great cottage.
Mick, Julie & Martha.
