This is an upscale smaller resort on the island. Everyone is very friendly and helpful. The resort has a newer appearance, and the rooms are nicely configured. The pool is large, and the beachfront area is really beautiful. It is also well-placed on the island. It is protected from southerly winds in the winter, and because it faces west, you are treated to amazing South Pacific sunsets every night. You can enjoy swimming and water activities.

Our one-bedroom suite had an ocean view with a nice outdoor patio and deck area. However, the hot water didn't work. What's with that? I've seen that other reviewers have had similar issues. This can't be that hard to fix.

When choosing a resort, there are always pros and cons. This place is clean and newer and has a great feel to it. The Flambe restaurant that is right there, but I am not sure is associated with the hotel, is one of the best on the island - probably the best on the island and that's a big plus. Again, lovely people as seems to be the rule throughout these islands.

Room Tip: Unit #3 or any of the oceanfront rooms are worth it for a wonderful and memorable stay.

This was meant to be a great child free resort. The staff were fantastic and friendly but. There was no hot water for showers and it wasn’t just our villa. Everyone we spoke to had the same problem. It wasn’t child free. A few managed to sneak in and run around spoiling the atmosphere. Food at both restaurants was great along with the service. The beach is definitely not pristine. It was littered with broken glass. Not from tourists throwing bottles but from a local rubbish dump that gets washed out in big rains. Don’t walk in bare feet. They don’t change the linen unless you specifically ask. I was bitten on the legs by something. Hope it wasn’t bed bugs. Such a pity.

Room Tip: The really expensive villas with private pool are much nicer and don’t run out of hot water

Thank you for taking the time to post your report regarding your stay with us at the Crown Beach Resort and Spa.

Although we naturally delight in receiving compliments, we also sincerely appreciate our Guests informing us of when our services and / or product falls short of their expectations. As we are always striving to improve our standards, less positive comments provide a valuable tool of reference during our Departmental Meetings and Staff Training Sessions. Your contribution is therefore appreciated.

We appreciate your comments made on your villa and the hotwater and acknowledge that there has been major improvements to the system.

Thank you again for your report, and we trust the less positive aspect of your stay will not deter you from staying with us again.

The Crown Beach Resort was a great choice! Its walking distance from different restaurants. Therefore, you don't have to worry about transportation. The service from all the resort was overall amazing! Every morning for 6 days we woke up for breakfast and the staff always greeted us with a smile. Breakfast selection varied but what's better than more than one option! The room was big and spacious, the bed is a CA King. Housekeeping always came in to make sure clean towels were available, washed our mugged from coffee, took out trash, and made the bed. The pool water was cold but then again July is considered winter in the Cook Islands. The location was perfect about 20min to town. We experienced the Spa, the Oceans Island Night (HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMOMENDED) and The Flambe Restaurant. Food was delicious! Flambe was a bit overpriced but still good experience. What we liked best was the service that was provided by security and Renae, she was so sweet with my husband and I. Always answered our questions and would ask us how our day went. At check out we did have a situation where they wanted to over charge us for late check out even though I had already paid for it prior. The receptionist looked confused and look like she lacked knowledge and experience. It was my first time seeing her from the 6 days that I was there.

Defiantly stay at this resort again, food was great, friendly staff and the resort itself is so beautiful, we had our own pool in our villa, the rooms are WOW, and the sunsets are amazing. We have visited Rarotonga a few times now, first time staying at Crown beach resort, will most defiantly stay there again.

We had an amazing 5 night stay here. The night before our wedding at the Crown till the end of stay. The room was nice and big making it a good place to get ready the morning of the wedding and the bed was super comfortable. Only improvement in the room could be better lighting it felt quite dark all the time. Having our own private pool was amazing as well.
The reception staff were very helpful and could answer any question we had and offered to help in any way they could. The restaurant staff also willing to help and were great to have a laugh with. Only down fall with restaurant staff is they were definitely on island time and some times it took 10-15mins to get our drinks. Leilani was the most outstanding staff member we dealt with at the Crown. She is the wedding planner and leading up to the day was very on to it with great response times in emails and answered every question I had. On the day she was very on to it making sure everything was organised and running to time and kept us informed through everything.
The food on the wedding day and the breakfast and from the restaurant was amazing and always plenty of it. Rarotongans really know their food. Cannot forget to mention the waffles at breakfast! They also do really good cocktails.
As much as its not the swimming side of the island the beach is still gorgeous and you get the best sunsets and you can still go snorkeling and kayaking.
Crown Beach Resort really did tick all our boxes and we will be back! I also highly reccommend this place for weddings and although a R16 Resort children are allowed onsite just not for the night.

Room Tip: Room 29 is on the boundary of the car park and other properties. Next time would request more central of the resort.
