Over the last few years this chippy has gone from strength to strength. Really enjoy the chips from here and have a good bit of banter with the staff

Had scampi an chips and I must say it was a great improvement on the last meal I had from there. Chips were fresh and crispy and scampi was moist and hot. Good combination

Called in last night quite late, but the lady still offered to do a large fish an chips if I didnt mind waiting. When I got it home I was very disapointed to find that the large fish had disintegrated! The paper had been wrapped around the meal so tight everything was squashed together. I intended sharing the fish so I took the piece of fish that was whole, ( all 4" of it )expecting to find more amongst the chips, but there was none! At £8 + a portion I would expect better. Why wasnt this put in a box and not wrapped tight and what happened to the 'large' fish? I have had takeaway from here before and its always been ok but from now on I will go elsewhere!

Hi Lyndon, can yo tell me what time you called in the shop so i can see who cooked and served you please? Im really sorry that the experience was not up to our usual standard and i will be rectifying this! thank you for saying you've been here before and its always been ok but this once we dropped the ball, sorry that you felt you had the need to come on social media this once when we dropped the ball but you didn't to come on social media and leave us a good review after as you said you been here before without problems?
we moved away from boxes as customers asking for paper wrapping and we did a poll and traditional wrapping was whats the people asked for so thats what we provide?
Also large fish and large chips would come to 7.10 so not 8+?
i would like to rectify this personally so if you would like to come back in as for me (JAY)

once again sorry it was not our usual standard and sorry you felt the need to come on social media now but not all the other times when you didn't have a problem and sorry you felt like you couldn't have dealt with us personally

Never had a bad meal from Church St. Chips are always perfect, and quite possibly the best, and most consistently cooked fish in town. Other places have been hit and miss, but not Church St... AND now I see they're going to be doing battered pigs in blankets! Wow! Can't wait to try those.

I have had takeaway from here a few times and even after the drive the food is still hot. The chips are nice and crispy and not soggy like other places and service is always fast and friendly.
