Description: Aruba is all about the fabulous beaches during the day, and the many great restaurants at night. It is only logical that these two unique things of Aruba are combined into one! Luc & Gerco found the perfect spot to synergize great food, and a beautiful setting to create an experience almost unique on our island. When listening to the ocean caressing the shore, while wiggling your toes through the pearly white sand, why not let yourself be pampered by a gourmet dinner? Chef Gerco & Maitre d' Luc had a shared dream of opening up a restaurant here, but wanted something in line with what they enjoy on Aruba: the nearly perfect climate, the possibility to always be outside, the tropical feel... When opening their restaurant, they had these ideas in their heads, and it worked like a charm! Tables under a large palapa on a wooden deck with a view of the ocean, or outside under the Aruban nights sky, on the pristine beach... An original menu was created by Gerco and team, with some of the old school favorites as well as locally influenced dishes. With the help of the local wine suppliers, Luc made an extensive wine list, with wines from all over the world, and is always ready to pair a wine with your dinner. The experienced service team is friendly yet professional, ready to wow you from the moment you walk in, to make a fabulous evening into a great memory on Aruba!

On your own, maybe not so easy to find. Unassuming exterior, you are not sure if you want to enter, but wonderful deck and beach seating. We opted for the deck and when I reconfirmed the reservation, was told we could have beach seats, we declined. Saw a magnificent sunset and totally enjoyed our first evening in Aruba. Ruud was NOT very attentive.
Prosciutto & melon left a bit to be desired on the melon side. Dutch crab cakes were OK, but as someone else said, too well done on the outside. My husband enjoyed the Snapper Old A'dam.
First mojito was wonderful, others were not.

The setting is the best, especially for sunsets. You can get a table right on the beach. The food was o.k. but nothing spectacular. The garlic shrimp were fantastic, the rest was just o.k. A few interesting cocktails. Worth the visit.

Friends recommended Barefoot and they weren't wrong. My review title says it all. Do not let the rest of this review deter you from visiting.

Now if the other "ugly" American tourons (tourist-morons) could have kept their spoiled, entitled children in check, the evening would have been perfect. I really enjoyed the sand in my meal as they ran back in forth through the beach-side tables. Other guests asked the manager to "corral" them which he did very politely.

We arrived on time for our reservation and we were promptly seated. The server named Ruud greeted us and took our drink order. The drinks were reasonably priced. We ordered the two tuna and Dutch crab cakes for appetizers. Both were good, the crab cakes were moist in the inside but burnt on the outside. I would have preferred that the outside not be burnt. Our entrees were snapper. Both were good and there was a nice portion. We opted not to have dessert since we were full from dinner. Our server Ruud was especially nice and he made our dining experience at Barefoot more enjoyable. Barefoot is located in an out of the way location but on a beach and near the water, I would have never found it on my own, thankfully the taxi driver knew were it was. Give Barefoot a try.

We could not get a reservation for the beach but got a table on the deck. It was perfect! We were above the rest of everyone and had perfect views while being covered from the wind. The shrimp croquettes and lobster cappuccino were AMAZING. We will be back!
