Do you yearn for the charm and hospitality of days gone by married to what you have come to expect in the 21st century and are searching for a perfect Caribbean resort with the heat, the charm, the views and the warmth without the stress and the mosquitoes? Then Goood Resort in Bonaire is for you. This secret place is now quite well known to the Dutch and (some) Americans but surprisingly few British people know about it to their loss. This is our second one-week stay here. We returned because it was perfect the first time, now it's even better!

Perched high overlooking the south of the island and Klein (little) Bonaire, Goood Resort is a wonderful place to unwind. This is a BandB with a difference. You can choose to have breakfast served to you - exceptional, changes every day to meet your needs - or you can buy your own food from the (excellent) local supermarket and make your own breakfast. Indeed you are free to make use of the fully equipped kitchen and huge fridge space to prepare your own lunch and cook your own supper as you wish. This time we ate in for five nights and ate out twice - saving hundred of pounds in the process. If it's not rainy you can eat outside under the stars, if raining there are covered sitting areas. And it's smoke-free. (Restaurants in Bonaire allow smokers so when eating out if you given a table down-wind it can be terrible - remember UK pubs and restaurants 20 years ago!)

Goood Resort has a lovely pool, four comfy hammocks and a range of other sitting areas. Most nights we sat on the upper terrace at sundowner time watching the sun go down sipping cocktails - the local distillery won the Gold Medal at the London awards in the past year for the best rum in the world for cocktails. We felt we were in a five star hotel without the other guests - amazing!

Mindy is an excellent host: she met our flight and fixed up our car hire and knows the island so was able to tell us the best places to snorkel and to eat out.

Come to Bonaire and to Goood Resort for that extra special holiday. Most people come for the snorkelling and diving and the island is really among the best locations in the Caribbean for both. If you need a recommendation for diving then Good Dive is the company we would highly recommend: both totally professional as well as charming.

That's about it. Good internet access too I should have mentioned.

We started at Birmingham airport and flew to Amsterdam for good connections for the direct flight to Bonaire on KLM which we would also recommend. You can fly from most large UK airports.

Most UK newspapers run travel articles about best secret holiday places. They haven't found Goood Resort yet. Come here soon before they do and enjoy!

Room Tip: We booked the largest room which was excellent.

Bonaire: little Paradise in the Caribbean. We had a wonderful time there. The couple that run the Goood Resort are very helpful, friendly and work hard to make sure you'll have a great time. The rooms are clean and quiet. It's a great resort with pool, jacuzzi and enough parking space.

I dont even know where to start.
We do travel a lot and this was the most heartwarming place we have ever stayed. Really good host's , unique but perfect location, room was everything we needed.
We had scooters whole time in a really suitable price and those were allready at the resort when we arrived.
Cause we had those, location was also perfect. So nice view from up hills to city and to sunset's.
Excelent breakfast with fresh fuits and bread from bakery nearby!
Kitchen in own use when ever you wanted.
If i could give a six stars i would.

Totally loved this whole place with a athmosphere in it.
Missing it allready:(

Beautiful pool and jacuzzi, great view, very friendly owners. It’s located close to Kralendijk. You will need transportation to get to the beach or to the restaurants in Kralendijk. Price is ok, it matches for what you get. Very nice A/C in the rooms.

The restort is one of the best places i have stayed. Its perfect for a couples retreat. The view on top of the resort of the city is amazing. Especially on New Years Eve. The place has a full equipped kitchen, that can be used anytime you wish. The place is clean all the time.
The owners are friendly and caring.

I would definitely stay at the resort again.
