Jack and Daphne have a very hospitable nature! We felt very much at ease at their appartments-house. They arranged a welcome BBQ, got some groceries for the first day, prepared a chilled beer or two, helped us when the car broke down, when we needed stuff for diving and best of all, Jack knows where and when to dive! Some of the best dives of our lives where arranged by Jack; hunting with the Tarpons at night, witnessing the illustrous ostracod mating, filming the nurse shark and much more!

We're blushing!!! Thnx for your great review, it was fun having you as our guests. Hope to see on Bonaire in the near future!
(By the way... it was full moon on the 27th, so you know what I did yesterday evening with two new divers ;o)

We just got back from our best diving/relaxing vacation ever!

Booking our apartment went with ease, emailing Jack and Daphne straight away.
They provided us with the information we needed, and tips where to look for flight tickets.

A few hours later we booked the flight tickets and arranged the apartment, now the long wait started!

During this time if we had questions i just sended an email and got respones within a few hours.
(keeping in mind the 6 hours time difference)

On arrival at the Flamingo airport Jack was at the exit waiting for us, within 5 min our bags where packed
and we where on our way to the villa.

in a few min we arrived at there home, located in Sabal Palm.
Sabal Palm is a very nice neighbourhood laying a little higher up the hill, this provides
a nice few from the pooldeck and also a very comftrtable breeze on a hot day.

The Apartment is nice and clean and everything we needed was there, we never used the airconditioning due to
the wind blowing threw the apartement as we akept the windows open, all the windows are fitted with mosquito Netting! big plus.

In the morning enjoying there garden you will be greated by singing birds and there 2 dogs Fins and Eclaire.

Jack arranged a big car with 4 wheel drive and enough space to drag our diving gear acros the island.

They arranged our diving needs with Wanna Dive, They have a 24/7 accessible location close to Villa Alcyone where you can change tanks and clean gear.
As Jack and Daphne are both divers they can inform you about many beautiful diving spots.

We where invited to join them on a few dives and they where great, they showed us frog fishes and sea horses and other amazing sea life.

Together with Jack and 2 other visitors we did a night dive at Captain Don and it was one of the most amazing things i have ever seen!

you can hang your gear out to dry at there own rack at the side of the house, ideal not leaving your private gear somewhere else!

Afther diving it is time for relaxing at the pool site with a cold drink,

Jack and Daphne are very pleasant people, Villa Alcyone started to feel like home on Bonaire.

We will be back!

We had the pleasure of staying at the Villa Alcyone for 1 week in May. It was truly fantastic...certainly a "diamond in the rough" so to speak. The hosts, Daphne & Jack were very accommodating and down to earth. We were met at the airport, upon our arrival, by Jack who then took us to pick up our truck rental. The apartment unit is very neat, clean, cozy and inviting. If you are looking for a quiet, laid back experience, this is it. This location is minutes away from the airport, beaches, shopping and restaurants.
We had supper at Captain Don's. Awesome food and atmosphere. We did Happy Hour until 6:30 and had a 7pm reservation overlooking the ocean where a school of 4'- 6' tarpons were feeding below. A must to see...
Overall, our week in Bonaire has been a very happy experience and we look forward to returning there in the near future. Thank you so very much Daphne & Jack for your hospitality.

My husband and I have been to Bonaire a number of times, but this was our first visit staying south of Kralendijk. We have absolutely no regrets about our decision to try Villa Alcyone with Jack and Daphne.
When in Bonaire, we prefer an efficiency unit in a small well-cared for complex. We like a quiet location in a neighborhood that feels safe. We also look for a pleasant outdoor space with a cooling salt-water pool. Inside the unit, everything needs to be clean and in good working order. We need a kitchen area that’s equipped to allow us to prepare breakfast, lunch and a few dinners. The bed must be comfortable, and a cooling cross-breeze though screened windows is ideal. We welcome an air conditioner in the bedroom area, just in case. Also, we need to ensure that our diving needs are covered; the shore diving arrangements with Wannadive through Villa Alcyone worked very well. A couple of well-mannered dogs who enjoy scratches and tickles from guests (if so inclined) is always a bonus for us. Finally, we appreciate value. Villa Alcyone delivered on all these requirements!

But the on-site owners, Jack and Daphne, make the villa so much more than the sum of its parts. They’re friendly, they’re welcoming, and they’re very helpful. They asked us every day if everything was OK, and immediately responded if we needed anything. The extra little (and sometimes big) things that they went out of their way to do for us and the other guests just blew us away. A good example is when we joined Jack on a night dive. It was a new site for us, so Jack led the dive and we experienced one of our most enjoyable and exciting night dives ever. Another time, we met Jack and Daphne as we were about to begin a dive. They had just finished their dive, but Daphne re-entered the water to help us locate the very cool frogfish at the reef’s edge. Wow. That’s not all. We had forgotten to pack a few important items, and without hesitation Jack offered to lend to us what we were missing. And the list of positive things that I could say goes on and on.

Villa Alcyone definitely ticked all our basic requirement boxes, and we would have returned based on that. But it’s the welcoming atmosphere that prompted us to re-book for next year almost as soon as we returned home. It’s a small place and we didn’t want to take the chance that it will book up if we wait too long.
