Disgraceful. I would not recommend this resort to my worse enemy . I knew when booking it wasn't going to be the best of resorts. We entered our room the curtains were been held up by a zap strap we had a hard time opening and closing them. Sheets on the bed were clean but the pillow and bedspreads smelled really bad. There were ants in the room, sink wasn't draining Properly,They ran out of bottled water to give to us,so we had to go buy some, light bulbs burned out in bathroom. Complained but no one came to replace it so we had to switch the light from the hallway to the bathroom. On the last day iPhone cord and plug were stolen. Very old and in major need of renovations. DO NOT BOOK THERE!!!!

This is a large complex resort. It is hard to take advantage of everything in just one week.as far as Cuba goes they have excellent food, be prepared to wait for the grills though, as they are in short supply. Good planning for your meals and taking advantage of the ala carte meals is a must. Be sure to find all the available bars and restaurants on site.
Depending on your room location, will determine your walk to the beach, but it is worth it, with miles of beach to explore. I highly recommend you bring your own beach towel ,as the hotel's policy for a 15 CUP deposit is a real pain.
The staff are real professional and a great help for all your needs, tips and gifts go a long way to ensure good service. Please remember your patience, as it is Cuba, Not everything is going to be very prompt, but anything you need will be made available. WiFi is available, with a card, the cost is 1 CUP for 1 hour. The rooms are usually adaquate, expect a firm bed, and basic amenities. The coffee and snack bars are very good, be sure to locate them all ASAP in your stay. So you may make use of them any time of day.
The pools are amazing with plenty of room to sit and enjoy , again, bring your own towel. Overall the cleanliness is is adaquate. Plenty of garden space to enjoy as well.
Travel from the hotel is always easy with no shortage of taxi's, buses, and of course, classic cars to get you where you need to go. There is also staff, in the lobby, to help you book any tours you may want to enjoy.
There are plenty of water sports to enjoy, kayaks, paddle boats, and Hobbie cats (skipper required ) even snorkel gear. These sports are free (tip may be expected ) but are very dependant on weather conditions. If you want to use anything, it must be booked, so be on the beach at 10 am.

Room Tip: Try to be on the second floor, if your room is not to your liking, let them know. They are very willing to find you a better option.

Booked a 1 week trip to Sol Sirenas Coral via Sell off Vacations. Paid $935 roundtrip all inclusive with flights and shuttle. Am happy considering the price, but the hotel itself leaves a little to be desired. It's Cuba, so I did expect some of these things, however.

I'll start with the bad:

The bedrooms are fine, but nothing exciting. The beds are a little hard but I slept okay in them and I'm a pretty light sleeper. Some of the light bulbs were burnt out, doors a little finicky, and our shower head wouldn't stay on the wall. Our safe didn't work so they gave us a new room. Hair dryer and iron worked fine.

The buffet is pretty rough if you're used to eating well. Most of the vegetables are from cans or previously frozen. Much of the food is very bland. That being said, I think we could have brought a variety of hot sauces, our own salt and pepper, some seasonings and perhaps salad dressings and we would have fared well. I am a somewhat picky eater but could always find something between the salad bar, pasta, made-to-order omletes, rice and beans. Tip your servers and your cooks and they'll serve you a little more, and put a little more care into your food. They will also be very grateful!

With all this being said, there are two excellent redeeming qualities of this place. First the people, second the beach.

The people are lovely - everyone at customer service, reception, the bar, restaurants, snack bars, they are all so lovely and make you feel welcomed. Some speak a little English, some speak none, but they're patient and kind. Our favourite staff were Vladimir and Yuraty who work the lobby bar during the daytime. They were friendly, kind, and provided excellent service. Yuraty in particular enjoyed taking the time to help us with our Spanish - which we greatly appreciated. Vladimir and Yuraty made our trip!

The second redeeming quality is the outdoor space. The pool is clean and lovely - there are pool side loungers for everyone and plenty of them. The beach is cleaned daily and has beautiful turquoise waters - the beach also has loungers and plenty of them. We really enjoyed bouncing between the beach and pool. We wished they had more palapas on the beach (plenty of shade by the pool) but as we were leaving we saw they were in the process of building more. Perfect!

Room Tip: 4th floor rooms are nice and sunny!

I Love this resort and you cant beat the staff.... but Book with air canada incase you want to change resorts with ease. My friends and I have been here 7 years in a row. Buildings need renovations, mosquitos have gotten worse, you will see a roach or two. Bring silicone for the base of the toilet (they leak) first floor suite washrooms have mosquitos (bring mosquito spray and raid) toilet paper is one ply.

Food is typical Cuban resort, try a little bit of everything untill you become a custom to the flavours.

The beach is the best in the western world, the hotel is a 10min walk from town. GO IN TO TOWN. Cuba is as safe as Canada at any time, trust me. Clubs and street bars are great!

I love Sol Sirenas and go back as much as possible, just be warned and at any resort be open to leaving for another one (cost about 16$ cdn)
