We came here for the snorkeling, which was awesome. The beach is free to use - the lounges and umbrellas are for the hotel upstairs, but if no one asks you then they are basically free. We were surprised that even with 4 of us on lounge chairs under an umbrella, random guests brought their chairs practically on top of us to get the shade from our umbrella, drinking and being loud with no respect for personal space. We were not used to this behavior, so just know it may happen.

The snorkeling itself was great, we saw eels, puffer fish, and the usual array of sealife. We brought our own food and drinks, as even in the US and Europe all beach food is more expensive. This beach's food is no different than anywhere else.

I forgot a pair of water shoes there and returned the next day and they were still there.

We were here on a slower weekday while driving around to see the island on our cruise vacation. The beach was nice, but like in most areas you have to watch out for the dead coral washed up on the beach that can be hard on the feet. This beach would be nice for a swim, but also had nice areas for snorkeling. The day we were there was very quiet and relaxing, but I am not sure if that is the norm for this beach. We laid under a cabana in some beach chairs for hours and no one hastled us for money. We figured they just didn't bother on slow days. However, when my husband went up to the snack bar to get a beer a woman mentioned prices for the thatched canopy and chairs. It was a little steep. We told her we were moving along anyways. She was very friendly and said we were fine to relax and drink our beer before moving on. Prices for food and drinks were pretty pricey.

First off the poor rating given is purely because of the beach snack / restaurant. The prices are quite high all around but given the nice location it's some we could see past. When we received our food however I felt compelled to warn others by writing this review. Simply said it wasn't fresh and poorly made when you would think you can't really mess up a chicken skewer or a hamburger in any way. This would all be well if the prices weren't so absurdly high for what you actually get. By all means visit this beautiful beach but bring your own food! (Or buy some on the way on the many truckipans on the side of the road which is probably a 3rd of the price and very enjoyable food.)
To the owners of the resort up the beach: common people step it up, this is simply not good enough with your current pricing.

We stopped here for lunch and snorkeling. Lunch was good but pricey. We shared a burger, got a beer and bottle of water and it was US$30. We walked out the dock and snorkeled from there. The guy in the dive shop told us the best places to go for our comfort level. We went out to where the reef appeared to drop off quite a bit. It was beautiful. Nice calm water. My hubby did get stung by what we assume was a jellyfish or something similiar near the pier. Great little spot.
