Stayed for 9 days in January. The hotel itself is wonderful, the pool and beach area very clean, well tended and unique.
The rooms were clean and up to date as one would expect from a Renaissance....but.....the staff ....oh my...the staff!!!
From check in to check out....the door men, the front desk, the cleaning staff, the bar and restaurant staff....we were impressed every day!!!
Not your typical "hello, have a nice day" comments from each and every one that we encountered. Each person made eye contact and truly made us feel cared for. Genuine and sincere are two adjectives that come to mind.
The interest shown and the chats with Ruth and Monique in the evenings in the lobby area made us feel that they truly were interested in our vacation and our well being.
Arlone and Miguel at the front door welcomed us each day and their friendly personalities made for a great team!! My husband required the use of the hotel wheelchair and they greeted us each day with the chair ready for us and their helping hands available.
Girainey at the Blue Bar....super friendly and takes his job of mixing drinks very seriously!
The front desk staff (didn't make note of their names unfortunately) went above and beyond in ensuring we were comfortable and satisfied with our Renaissance experience.
The staff appear to truly enjoy their jobs and congrats to management for hiring people with positive attitudes and outstanding people skills.
We have NEVER had this type of sincere service delivery anywhere!

We just came back having celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary. We had a great experience. Our room faced the ocean and we had a clear view of it and off to the right you could see the cruise ship terminal. It was interesting to watch the coming and goings of the big ships. Our room was immaculate upon arrival and housekeeping kept it that way. The bed was super comfortable, the water was nice and hot and the internet was great. We felt safe in the hotel and also walking about downtown and driving around the island in our rental car. We ate inside at the bar, outside at the pool and tried the lunch buffet inside before departure. Good food every time! Hats off to Gilberto the food and beverage manager for his kindness and thoughtfulness in surprising us with an anniversary cake. It's the little things . . . Riangelo the Navigator and I emailed several times before arriving and he was extremely helpful. It was a pleasure to meet him and see how much he cares about giving the guests the best experience. We will be back!

Room Tip: Corner suites are a great value!

If you follow me I have been increasingly disappointed in the Renaissance Brand and this property is no different. Do not know where to start but we are Platinum for life and treated like nothing at the desk. Room is awful, view of parking garage and smoke smell of the casino! Service is awful and the beautiful pics of the pool do not show the rust bucket ship off the beach or the huge cruise ships right on the property! Very disappointed so far!!!

Dear Bill M,

Thank you for sharing your feedback regarding your stay at our resort. While we aim to provide exceptional service to our guests and especially to our Marriott Rewards Elite members, it seems as though we have fallen short of our goal this time. We are upset to learn that the service you received from our front desk staff and other team members was sub-par and certainly not aligned with our Renaissance brand standards.
Our management team joins me in offering our sincerest apologies for the service levels you've experienced. We regret that your stay has not met your expectations thus far and we hope for an opportunity to still make it up to you.

From your comments it seems as though you are still at our property. If that is the case we urge you to please stop by the front desk or dial "0" from your room and ask for me or our Manager on Duty in order for us to address your concerns immediately.

Warm regards,

Chanteau O

Just got back from a 7 night stay at the hotel. It is located downtown right at the harbor entrance. The service staff was very friendly and housekeeping kept the room very clean. Many nights they had an island drink sample . One night they had a chef demonstrate the making of one of their dishes from the restaurant. Good sized fitness center. Had a business center and tour center. Walking distance to all of downtown.

Room Tip: We did mid range room (resort view) and it was fine since you do not spend much time there anyway,

WE didn't stay here but we paid $20 each for a lovely day at the "infinity pool" which is actually a beach with sandy bottom and infinity edge. It was funs seeing the iguanas. you can eat and drink all day long but we were parked right next to the place on Celebrity Eclipse so the last thing we needed was "more food and alcohol." While I can't ommnet on the quality- lots of folks were ordering. There are nice palapas or full sun whatever your wishes may be and the greatest thing is that they close the club when "its full." It wasn't like the other beach we went to where people were lined up right next to one another. Loved it. The hotel looked really nice- there is a starbucks for all of you addicts and a mini-mall for those needing to shop. There are several high end stores for clothes with the $$$$ to go with it.

Room Tip: facing the port
